If i were an Arsenal fan i'd be much more worried about what's going on at my own club.

Three years of winning nothing and key players want out.

i'm sure the 40,000 notes he gets at the end of the week ease the burden of not playing

Yeah, he's a good player is Skrtel. Looks like a maniac too.

Must be something the water over that way.

He said in the Serbian interview 'I'm paid a lot, and no one has told me why I haven't made my debut'

He knows he gets paid a lot but still all he wants is to play.

Pointless, this is a football forum let people talk freely without resorting to bullshit comments.

Why dont they play him? Its just so typical of Chelsea to throw their money away. Buying players and not even using them.

He was signed in January. He didn't play when he first arrived because he wasn't match fit because of the winter break in the Russian league.

Then he got injured in the reserves and was out for a while. When he came back it was the title run in at the end of the season. I think there was only in the order of six or eight games where he was fit and available to play for the first team and didn't. Those were the last six or eight games of the season.

Every game in the league was a must win and every game in the cl was sudden death (over two legs, of course). There were no cup games agaist weaker opposition left for him to get a run. It is understandable that the manager didn't give him his first start in one of these big games when Terry Alex and Carvalho were all fit, performing and had more match time than he had. He'll know that as well.

Ivanovic's story isn't much different to Agger's start at Liverpool. Agger was signed in January for £5.8million but only made four appearances in the league well after their league season was dead and buried (and no appearances in the CL). The difference is that Chelsea didn't have have any nothing games at the end of the season to give him his first start ahead of the other guys who deserved their place in the team ahead of him.

Did you only start supporting Chelsea once Abramovich bought the club, or is the Russian connection just coincidence?

"Its the sun so it must be true"

No doubt Chelsea saw the success United and Liverpool have had in signing random Eastern-Europeans and thought they'd get in on summa' that action.
What success in signing Eastern Europeans have Liverpool had though?

Skrtel joined at the same time as Ivanovic and Agger can't really be classified as an Eastern European as Denmark are usually mentioned among central or western countries.

The man responsible for buying Ivanovic and subsequently not playing him has since been fired if anybody hadn't noticed.

Yeh I think the above is all true. Every game last year (towards the end of the season) was a 'must win' for Chelsea so in that respect I can see why Ivanovic wasn't given a shot. He needs to impress in pre-season which I imagine he will play a lot of and then hopefully break into the first team

He was signed in January and didn't even come on for a minute as a sub...I mean gimme a break Would you pay 9million for a player and not play him cause it's too 'risky'....would never happen at any other club, not even the nuts at madrid would pull a stunt like that

He wasn't fit when he got here in Jan and was also injured for a bit, by the time he was fit Chelsea had to win every game. If he doesn't play at all now then he should get the fuck out of Chelsea asap.

You confuse bad luck like slipping on a wet grass with lack of character like leading the league for most of the year and ending up 3rd in the process.

John Terry? You have got Gallas, ffs. I know who i'd rather have as a captain.

No i was never a big fan of Kharine and anyway, at the time of his arrival it was impossible for me to follow Chelsea since i couldn't watch the matches where i lived, there were no broadcasts available.

Zola was the reason i started rooting for Chelsea. Before that i mostly followed Russian clubs and national squad in international tournaments.

Don't you hate that cnut Mikel? whats the bet he spends most of next season festering on a warmed bench. He could give Ivanovich a hand shandy to keep occupied.
