Jurado
Changed the game for Athletico last night. The small playmaker, who I would liken to Iniesta. Everytime I watch him play, he is great. He is similar to Modric, and can play on the left or behind a striker. I would prefer him to Silva easily. I think soon he will be at one of the top clubs, and I would like it to be us.
Anyone else feel he is very underated? |

strange one. I didn't think he was That good to be honest.
Nor did I think either of the teams were that good yesterday. A lot of misplaced passes. We should look at someone who is ready to step up to a bigger stage now...not someone who will be ready in a few years. |

He's a good player and I've kept an eye on him since he was on loan at Mallorca. I doubt he'll be at a top club before the end of the next season as he's only shown flashes for Atletico so far, rather than stamping his name on the teamsheet with any authority.

Aah cheers, that explains it. Fulham were playing well and bossing possession for the short spell I watched, Zamora was quality. Then Atletico started to dive and roll around a lot feigning injury (started with their keeper doing it) and gradually played their way back into it and at that point I switched it off to concentrate on the game I was most interested in, being the more entertaining. I watched enough diving and shenanigans to last for a lifetime in the last Inter v Barca game.
Very disillusioned with European football at the moment, give me a league play-off game any day. |

He's nothing special. Watched him for a while and he's just another run-of-the-mill Spanish attacking midfielder.

I think a very underrated Atletico player is Alvaro Dominguez, aside from last night I watched him in other two games and he gave me the impression to be a brilliant defender. Last night he made absolutely no mistakes. I can't say much about Jurado, I didn't find him impressive.

I have watched him more than one time, since I saw him at the U21 Euro's. He has always been one of the best players on the pitch, usually coming off the bench, and can play anywhere across the midfield with superb vision and control.

He doesn't posses the defensive abilities of Iniesta, nor the tactical acumen. In fact He is more similar to Valeron but with superior dribbling ability. He is far from special.

I've watched Atletico for a good few years now. He's good but he's nothing special. He seems to make the wrong decision quite often. His passing isnt great and his shootings a bit mediocre though to be fair he has scored a few decent goals this season. A bit drastic to say he changed the game when it was a hoof up the park which Aguero showed his brilliance to keep it in. Thats what changed the game.

I've watched every game Atletico and Mallorca have played the last 5 years and have not missed a single u18 game Jurado has played during his Real Madrid time. So I can safely conclude he's not all that.

Him and Duff were a doubt before the game. I was surprised to see both of them start but I think Hodgson would be hoping they'll be leading when the time came to take them off so he could comfortably go to his man behind ball European style.

If you'd read my post properly you'd know I only watched snippets of the game as I watched the Cardiff Leicester game, what I did witness however was De Gea going down feigning injury in the second half trying to get a Fulham lad sent off, various other examples of gamesmanship and generally what was looking to be an utterly shite game of football which is sadly becoming a pattern for European football this season now United are out of Europe. But don't just take my word for it, Quote:

That's from a quick scan of a couple of pages of the match thread, I'm sure there's more. It's epidemic in the continental game at present and it's fucking killing the game and the referees are doing fuck all about it. I've watched all four play off semi final legs so far and they've all been cracking games played in the right spirit, no cunts rolling around holding their faces trying to gain advantage by getting a fellow player sent off, just two teams having a proper go at each other, plenty of goals and attacking football and generally a credit to the game. The two Champion's League semis were utter fucking dross, especially the second legs and that Europa League final the other night didn't sound much better from what I read on here or look much better from the little snippets I saw of it. Now I don't know what game you were watching but you are coming across as a bit of an Atletico fanboi here and quite possibly a bit blinkered and probably immune to the shite that is passing itself off as European football nowadays. |

As for Jurado he's not so far off Silva at all and this time I can see why Scholesy likes him. I wouldnt rule out him having a better season than Silva next season.
But yeah no top club will be taking him this summer is my bet. Next summer after a good league season. |

I thought it was the typical English vs Spanish encounter : one team willing to play football and the other defending and counter attacking with long balls. The rest (the antics and cheating) was done by both teams |

In equal proportion ? The impression I get is one team was trying it on a lot more than the other. I witnessed their keeper trying to get a Fulham lad sent off for a start off, he was never touched, that was a feckin disgrace. Aguero trying to win a penalty near the end of normal time with a shameful dive. The point is not a Fulham v Atletico one anyway, it's the amount of this shit going on in the European game and the fact that despite a so called 'lower standard of play' in the English lower leagues, the football is ten times more entertaining. |

Anyway I've taken this thread way off topic. This should be in another thread.
