I know it's a tradition and you're a mod and everything but having a sticky about Leeds is a bit of a joke.

Incidentally Marching, just watching a game from 2001/02 between your 1st team and your 2nd team, Bowyer's first game after the court case, just scored and had a right go at the Newcastle fans who were booing him. Amusing given he went on to play for them for 3 years. |

FRESH investment in Leeds United moved a significant step closer this afternoon when the Elland Road club granted exclusivity to an unnamed bidder.
The Championship club have been in talks with potential investors for the last month, with the front-runner believed for a long time to be from North America. And on Tuesday they confirmed that they have got to the stage where one investor has been given exclusivity to carry out due diligence. The club also say they are confident that a deal which will satisfy Football League regulations will be struck. The club statement read: “Further to our previous statement on May 29, Leeds United can confirm they have granted an exclusivity period to enable a potential investor to carry out the appropriate due diligence. “It is anticipated this will be a fairly straightforward process. “A confidentiality clause prevents the club from making any further comment. “However, our dicussions with them have left us very comfortable that they have the financial resources to support the club and that they will have no issues in satisfying the requirements of the Football League Owners and Directors Test, unlike many of the previous approaches we have had to endure.” |

Unpopular opinion incoming but here goes. Leeds belong to the premiership and I hope they return sooner rather than later.
Not that we need another team that hates our guts beyond any reason mind, but on the other hand two more meaningful games will spice up the season even more. |

The day Bates sells up is getting nearer and hopefully the new owners have the money that's needed to give us a sustained period in the PL. With our sell out away following and hostile home crowds we would certainly make it interesting. |

I see you have signed Adam Drury from Norwich. he's been fantastic for the Canaries for a very long time, just not good enough to be a regular in the Prem. He'll work his socks off for you, I'm sure.

Warnock seems to be building a defence ....something we've not had for quite a while now! |

Drury is the sort of professional you can't dislike, he's intelligent, hard-working and loyal. I really hope he gets a lot of games for you.

I don't know what it is about us and goalies but we've changed again with local lad Paddy Kenny being the latest to arrive.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18538963 Decent enough but it remains to be seen if he's better than the ones who've gone before him....at least Warnock has built a defence in front of the goalie which is more than we've had for a while. |

Good question....I always liked him and his replacement has now gone so I do question why they feel the need to ship one out and get a replacement that's not that different. |

No secret that Snoddy was off...the club have bent over backwards for him but he wants PL football and he's now got it....it will be interested to see what he does with it.
Bit disappointed he's off but he'll be on more money which is what it's all about. Thanks for him for some great performances Snoddy.....now feck off! |

He's been at Leeds since he was 8 so it's great news he's staying. He's been very good and is getting better...has been playing more midfield recently and even switched to the right since Warnock arrived. Seems happy to play where required which is always a good sign.

Pre-season's going well and hopefully come the first game they will have got to know each other to give us a win on opening day. Hopefully the supposed take over will have happened (or gone away) by then too! |

I don't blame either for leaving because it's all about money and Norwich pay them more than we can....because we are not a big club compared to a PL one. |

THE Gulf-funded deal to buy Leeds United from current owner Ken Bates has collapsed, it was reported today.
I can't believe any Leeds fan will be shocked by this news.http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport...pses-1-4818341 Al-Khalifa, a member of Bahrain’s ruling dynasty, was part of a consortium including representatives from Saudi Arabia and Asia who failed to push through a takeover deal just under a decade ago, but it seems he has maintained a strong interest in United’s affairs. In 2003 he told reporters: “I fell in love with the club when I was 11-years-old when Leeds played Chelsea in the 1970 FA Cup Final. “Leeds mean everything to me, I was born to support them. Those who are closest to me, my friends and my family, know what Leeds United mean to me.” Where's the throwing-up smilie when you need one?! |
