Mark de Vries then struck the woodwork for the visitors after meeting a Wayne Andrews cross.

Into the quarter finals of the northern section of the Johnstone Paints Cup. The glory days are back mate!

I'm very very impressed with Leeds this season. I personally thought they would do a MK Dons and freefall, but I have been proven wrong. Which is a shame

Still found it bizarre to believe Leyton Orient were winning 1-0 at Elland Road in a league game.

What a load of bollox....good game spoilt by a rubbish ref that Leeds should have won...hardly the end of the world that they didn't.

Another 30,000 crowd made sure there was a cracking atmosphere.

Day made even better with the Rhinos winning at OT, Wales losing in Cyprus and England beating the French in Paris.

Leeds in the clear after pitch invasion
EXCLUSIVE

By Simon Mullock 14/10/2007

Leeds have escaped punishment for the pitch invasion which marred their final Championship home game of the season in April.

Quote:
The Elland Road club, docked 15 points after going into administration when their relegation to League One was confirmed by the 1-1 draw with Ipswich, will not be censured for the scenes which saw the game delayed for 30 minutes.

Sunday Mirror Sport has learned that disciplinary chiefs are happy to let Leeds and the West Yorkshire Police mete out their own justice to the offending fans.

An FA spokesman said: "It has always been our policy to punish the people who committed the offences rather than clubs themselves."

West Yorkshire Police released photographs of those fans who ran on to the pitch and have made 17 arrests.

One of the four fans who have already been before the courts was handed a five-year ban from all football grounds.

Another eight people have been charged with offences relating to the pitch invasion, while the remaining five fans arrested have been released on police bail.
That FA bit is a load of rubbish...we were banned from playing at ER in the 70's for a justified pitch invasion to explain to the ref he had made a cock up.

Oh God, I hate Leeds. And they just keeps winning. It really was a blessing in disguise having them in the Premiership. At least they lost shitloads of games in their latest seasons, and we could hammer them and laugh at them. Now, their so far down the league system that they just can't help winning despite their blatant shiteness.

Oh, and Marching, you're an old cnut. I hate Leeds. Why can't you just give up, lose all your fecking games and let Bates have a go at management, playing Tore Andre Flo up front every game? Please?

i see your understanding of finance hasnt got any better since your days posting as Jumpers for Goalposts on YNWA, when you spent many an afternoon telling everyone over there that Leeds were on sound financial footing, then disappeared in rather mysterious circumstances when the whole thing went tits up.

United have debt that they can manage, Leeds had debt they couldnt. United are a big club, Leeds were playing at trying to be a big club. there is a world of difference between Uniteds debt and the debt Leeds had, before screwing all their creditors and forcing many small businesses to close by not paying them the money they were owed and being "debt free."

Where did I even mention the debt we had?

I am talking about the current situation while you seem to be in your comfort zone, the past.

its true though, they hadnt even the good grace to settle up with the St Johns Ambulance Brigade for money they owed them for their costs in getting people and equipment to the ground. St Johns only wanted their expenses. its a fecking charity for christs sake. Leeds United should have been made to pay it all back, and if that meant selling everything andthem groundsharing with Farsley Celtic then so be it. Leeds are only in business because they put other companies out of business andowed charities money. cunts

Why not? They are on the list of creditors like everyone else. You seriously suggesting a special case should have been made for certain creditors?

for charities, yes. what Leeds got away with was a disgrace. i honestly think had Leeds been a smaller club in a two club town, they would have been wound up

What did Leeds actually get away with? Did they do something that many other business don't? Didn't they repay what they were told to?

My understanding is that a group of Leeds fans paid the £165 owed to St Johns Ambulance anyway. No harm done there then.

Have you got a list of those "many businesses that were forced to close"?

the fact that it was £165 makes it even more appalling. what did you offer them? £1.65. a disgrace of a club.

why did they pay much more than they originally offered? i thoughtBates said youcould only afford a penny in the pound? how much did the courts make you pay? and how was the additional money found? crooks. thats what Leeds United are. should have been wound up

typo = pisshead. good man, divert the topic

where did Bates find the extra money after his initial offer of 1p was challenged?

as for knowing how the system works, i'd safely say i've forgotten more about how it works than you'll ever know.
