Forget about the goals and creative passing, I wanna know the secret of his impeccable technique. The way he runs with the ball, it's something else. That's shoulder feint is by far my favorite move of his, he makes it so simply but creates havoc with it.
Imagine being this relatively great in your local football league, I have to stop dreaming now..

Chris Kamara was talking about him earlier on SSN. He made some very good points when talking about the Maradona comparisons and the people who try to claim that he can't been seen as the greatest until he wins a World Cup.

So, will he ever fancy trying his luck in another country or is he at Barca for life?

Not sure. He could eventually up sticks and end his career in Argentina, but I imagine he'll see the next decade or so out at Barca. He doesn't want him to leave, they won't sell him, and there's no reason for him to leave either.

I'm still struggling to comprehend he's just 24. Can still vividly remember that game at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea mucked up their own pitch and Robben and Del Horno in the corner. Crazy to think that was nearly 7 years ago.

That still annoys me, the way he checks here the ref is and starts Eboue'ing off the pitch.

Would he have gone to Barcelona if not for his "disabilities"?

Was a documentary on Messi on ITV4 two days ago. Good watch as well.

His father basically issued Barca an ultimatum in the end because he thought they were being messed around.

edit - found it for you

Are you absolutely mental?

He went over the top of the ball, completely reckless and not in control of his body.

Hence a red card.

Looking at it again, never watched the last angle, I can see why the red was given. I think it looks a hundred times worse with Messi jumping into Del Horno. In fairness, he was probably trying to get out the way but I don't think it is bad as some people think. Certainly not criminal.

Just had an argument down the pub about messi and how good he is. Sometimes I really have to question if my mates actually have a fucking clue. The same old, "I don't think he could do it in the premier league, he'd get kicked" etc argument. It's so stupid. He's gets kicked all the time, in each game again real he takes bare hacks and hes still better than everyone else.

Most ridiculous argument was if you stuck him in the stoke team he wouldn't be as effective. Still don't understand what point that makes other than stoke are crap. Or he hasn't won a trophy with Argentina. So what. It's a cup competition. Rooneys never won the fa cup does that mean Ashley cole is a great of the English game and Rooney isn't.

What points?

NB: If he trotted out the usual ''the world cup is not important anymore' bollocks then he did nothing.

Unlikely he would've ever left Argentina at such an early age...Would've ended up playing for River or Boca and then gone on to Europe

Some may not remember but there was a worse foul from Del Horno that deserved a straight red several minutes before the infamous incident involving him & Robben near the corner flag...He was karate chopped at the thigh ala De Jong, but much worse...Remarkable Leo wasn't injured...Not even a whistle for that one

I'd say de Jong edges that contest.
