Micah Richards

Remember when he was talked about as a promising player for England?

He's always out of position and is in general a shocking defender with no real awareness

He has Walcott syndrome, without his Physical Attributes he looks pretty fucking clueless of the game

Fantastic athlete. Not much of a footballer yet though.

Any English player who looks half spirited is an international class player as far as the media are concerned.

He played the mystery guess well on question of sport. Not too good at defending though.

He never knew how to defend, just had the physical attributes, one of the best games he has was when they beat us 1-0 at Eastlands, and Tevez got in behind him on numerous occassions, but Richards had the pace to get back and make excellent recovery tackles

And that just shows what's wrong, he got beat so many times positionally, but had the ability to recover.

And apparently, he's addicted to the gym, just spends all his time on the weights

And then there is this rumoured story;

Quote:
Vieira asked Richards what he wanted to achieve in the game: 'I want to play for a successful City team and play for England too.'

'Really??' replied a surprised Vieira. 'Then how come you're the last one onto the training pitch every day and the first one off it?

Is his best position actually in central defense?

Discounting the bench obviously.

He s actually more shit as a central defender..... he s the primest example of how a good athlete is not necessarily a good player.

Some people on here would still want us to sign him. They would claim he is 'raw' and under Fergie he will become a great defender.

Properly managed, he might still become a pretty good player.

I don't buy this idea that he's made a good deal of progress under Mancini. He's a fantastic athlete but his positional awareness is poor and he's prone to clumsy tackles/passes.

Let's look at the more important things here. Is it pronounced "Miker" or "Meeka"?

His awareness hasn't improved Mancini's defensive tactics are just very rigid and structured and have been drilled into him every day of the week - watch him in international football when he has to show a bit of genuine positional intelligence and awareness and he'll sink because it's just not there.
