Most successful player of all time

Which player do you think has enjoyed the most successful career in professional football to date?

This question begs another question: As a football fan, how do you determine the success of an individual player (past or present)?

If we are talking trophies and medals, then I'm not sure many, if any, boast more than Maldini or Giggs.

If we are talking money, then surely Beckam wins that hands down ?

Seedorf, winning the CL with three different teams is some achievement. Not sure how many people will ever do that. Few league and cups aswell im sure.

I'm sure Maldini has probably won the lot as well...was he not in the Italy squad in the world cup just gone ??

I forget.

Giggs is most certainly up there, Seedorf, Gerrard i'd say because he's won everything major in the club game bar the league (unlucky stevie)

Well he won La Liga once, but also the European Cup, UEFA Cup and the CWC which is quite impressive.

Yeah, won the WC as a player, coach, 3 CL on the trot and countless Bundesliga titles.

Maldini never won anything with Italy.

And didn't win that much in Italy.

Zidane.

Won the World cup and Euro championship for his country.

And at club level he's won Serie A, La Liga and of course the champions league. A full medals cabinet for him.
