New signings to the PL
Hey everybody
Just wanting to know people's opinions on all the new signings to the Premier League this season... A few of them we in New Zealand don't actually hear a lot about, so help is appreciated. Luca Modric: Is this guy actually as good as the media are saying? Every article says Spurs made an absolute steal when they got him. A lot of people seem to think he won't take any time at all to adjust - what do you think? Samir Nasri: the new Zidane - seems to be like another Hleb - a great dribbler and won't score enough goals. I've seen him play and he looked okay, but is he going to set the PL alight? Will he score much? Giovani dos Santos: This guy I do actually know a lot about. Spurs got a great deal there. Will he do well this season? Thanks in advance |

You could basically look all of them up on the Internet to get more or less reliable information. If you had spent more time on caf for instance.
Modric is a fine player and Spurs are probably just a step on his way to big things. He apparently rejected several top clubs to sign for them and ditched Newcastle's late bid. He did well in Euros where his side was unlucky to be eliminated in quarterfinals. A steal? Well, they did pay £16.5m and with him being unproven in a better league that requires physical strength, which Modric doesn't have is a bit of a gamble. He will most likely do well though. As I've said, Spurs are only a step. Club like United or Barcelona will be the next if he lives up to expectations. He is also better than any other midfielder in the world. He's bringing sexy back to the league too: ![]() Nasri is probably regarded a bit shit among some posters here for a pure fact that he plays for Arsenal. He was Marseille's most important player last season and the reason why they made it to the Champions League. It's unlikely that he will have any problems with adapting to the league since Wenger is known for breeding French players very well. A proper replacement for Hleb, probably a better and more talented player all round. He is apparently the 42nd Zidane since the real Zidane become known. Looks like a 14-year old nerd as well: ![]() Dos Santos is a big question. He was once labelled as Barcelona's biggest talent but has failed to match expectations, most likely due to the quality of his teammates which made it difficult for him to come through the ranks and establish himself as a first-team regular. He apparently scored 18 goals in his first game for Spurs. We shall see. Also, for some reason to spell his name correctly you have to spell it incorrectly. Giovani, not Giovanni. Looks very cool: ![]() I think it's a lot of information. |
