Non-United fans on the caf
What do you get out of it? Especially the big dogs. I have sometimes read RAWK, or whatever that chelsea one is, but never spend a continuous amount of time on it.
Not trying to be a wum (cause some of the mods are non-united!) but seriously whats the point? |

Well I still find it quite a good laugh plus there are posters who have some interesting perspectives (better than the media if you ask me) plus it gets a bit tedious in Arseland with everybody singing from the same hymn sheet.

Im banned from all the Reading forums, and i have united "supporting" "mates".
Caf is probs the best football related forum. The Reading ones are all full of negative people, no matter how we're doing. Like the general chat as well. But the main point is im banned from the others. good night. |

I just dont understand muppets like Davo, DJSpaz, njred who spend too much time on these forums which is evident with their thousands of posts.
I dont buy this whole "I want a good football forum", there are plenty of decent neutral forums ![]() |

The non-United supporters are one of the best things about this forum, there are a lot of really good, knowledgeable posters, who just happen to support someone else. The main problem I have with this site is the sycophancy you are expected to spout about our players, in order to be considered a 'proper fan'. Having fans of other clubs helps balance that out a bit.

I post on here because (sometimes) there is interesting discussion and also because Spurs - or various Spurs players - seem to feature quite a lot and it can be interesting to hear and engage with the views of non-Spurs supporters.
It also helps that it's an active forum with lots of members. My home forum is COYS - Come On You Spurs - which is also an excellent forum with a large number of active members. I also like the usually attacking, open-play philosophy of Man. United teams, which is similar to a long-standing Spurs tradition. |

I spend quite a lot of time lurking at RAWK after our games, always good for a laugh. And I quite like the no nonsense style there in threads not about their rivals.

Muppetry tends to defy rational explanation.
Idiots aside - and we have more than a few of those amongst the United support - I think the opposing fans generally add to the forum. A different perspective can be quite useful, and it helps to keep things from being a total wankfest. |

Firstly, I like the frequency of threads and posts on here, obviously it isn't in real time but you are not waiting for hours for a reply.
Secondly, I like what many other people have picked up on is the number of neutrals on here spread across the Premiership who will have a meaningful conversation with you if you respect them, and the same of course goes to the 'natives'. It is healthy to get a perspective from another club's viewpoint of footballing events. Thirdly, I first discovered this site on the night Liverpool were beaten in the CL Final last year, the imagination and creativity was astounding and I still look back through those posts- and it just so happens that the day I joined was the day the infamous 'We won a throw in!!! get in there!!!' thread was started. Lastly- Keep you friends close, keep your enemies even closer. |
