the funny thing is that Boavista was found guilty of the same thing that Porto was and Boavista will have to go to the second division and Porto only got deducted 6 points from a championship that they had 25 points more than the second place club.
the all thing is a joke i hope they lose the apeal.

Some guy from the portuguese FA was saying that if Portoīs appeal is turned down, Sporting and Guimarães will get the direct places and Benfica (who finished 4th) will play the qualifying round.

He said he was absolutelly sure about this.

True, the disciplinary comission didnīt have the balls to send Porto to the 2nd division. They came up with loads of technical and bureaucratic stuff to justify it.

Apparentelly Porto tried to bribe the refs but the Portuguese League, after reviewing the matches in question, failed to prove that the referee in question actually helped Porto. Porto won both matches confortably so probably the ref didnīt had do to anything.

In the Boavista case, the managed to spot flagrant mistakes in favour of Boavista. Ironically, Boavista lost both matches even after bribing the ref.

Not true. The referees were identified publically and were banned forever from international competitions. Regarding national competitions they were punished with several years of suspension (from 3 to 10 depending on the accusation).

It just really pisses me off that Porto get banned yet Milan were not and went on to win the damn thing, but this point won't even be raised by anyone except us lowly fans.

UEFA accepted Milan because they had no rule to reject them. They changed their rules after that incident.

Bollocks, it's because the decision was made so late that the 5th placed team didn't have enough time to apply for entry into the Champions League qualifiers.

I wish you all would stop crying.

If somehow we missed out on Europe, UEFA would bend over backwards to try and get us in.

Big clubs make big money.

Fair enough then. I must've missed it, bet it was a small article in fine print at the corner of a page somewhere in an unrelated news area.

Sadly corruption has been a part of football for ages, only recently are people talking about it.

Deserve what they get, no sympathy.
