I'd be happy with a draw at Anfield. Other than the anomalous result at WHL earlier, they've been very good both home and away this season against the 'top clubs'. They don't concede a great deal of goals either.

For all the talk of Suarez and Gerrard returning and Kuyt and Carroll 'finding form', Bellamy is still the player I feel most uncomfortable about from that squad. Though I'm sure Suarez is good for a dive or two in the box if we're up.

I'd be surprised if Liverpool don't continue their campaign against playing well only against good sides and beat them - their record this season relative to their form has been ridiculous.

Yeah - just noticed this. Channel 34 on Freeview for anyone who doesn't have Sky or Virgin.

Anyone know why is the Arsenal match is kicking off at 1pm?

Interesting factoid, our game against Villa will be the first match we've played this season where we won the corresponding fixture last season.

Spoiler

Arsenal (h) - draw
Sunderland (a) - draw
Fulham (h) - draw
(QPR away - technically I suppose we did beat Birmingham away last season)
Villa (a) - lose
Blackburn (h) - lose
Wolves (a) - draw
Spurs (h) - draw
Wigan (h) - draw
Stoke (a) - lose
Everton (h) - lose
Man C (a) - lose
Man U (a) - lose
Chelsea (h) - draw
(Norwich away - we drew away at Blackpool)
(Swansea home - we beat West Ham at home)
West Brom (h) - draw
Bolton (a) - lose
Liverpool (a) - lose
Man U (h) - draw
(QPR home - we beat Birmingham at home)
Fulham (a) - lose
Blackburn (a) - draw
Villa (h) - won

Wow. Great stat Sewelly, pretty impressive from Newcastle's point of view. Still shocked you didn't sign a central defender btw.

It's a mental stat, even discounting the relegated/promoted teams.

I know. Mariappa was apparently very close but they didn't want to budge over a certain price. Not getting anybody is a massive gamble though, I even think it would be worth bringing in a Kuqi-style free transfer for 6 months.

He left on pretty bad terms apparently. Turned up fat then spent most of the season on a turbosulk that he was only 4th choice.

I've seen on Twitter it's because of work scheduled on the underground. But I completetly don't understand why it can't be 12.45pm, but 1pm is ok.

Never try to understand the wonder that is Transport for London, you'll only end up with less brain cells than before.

Van Persie taps in after 90 seconds for 1-0.

Assist for Walcott, horrendous defending from Blackburn.

Smart pass by Coquelin for the goal. Not even Walcott could mess it up for setting up RVP.

Smart player. Good build for Prem imo as well. So much potential. Think he will be a top quality player if he applies himself and continues to grow. Looks a smarter version of Walcott.
