It really says something about how low expectations of Carroll has sunk, when even a pretty poor first touch followed by a scrambling backpass that hits his man, is met with a round of applause and cheer by the home crowd.

It's not that he's a poor buy for £35 million, it's that he's a poor striker period. Not PL quality on the evidence of this season. In fact, Jermaine Beckford was shipped back to the Championship for offering thrice as much as Carroll.

It's getting to the point where it's not funny anymore to laugh at Carroll. He's a "fail" player

Dalglish is a terrible manager.........he can't bring anything out of players like Carroll.

Carroll wouldn't be so mad with Fergie or Mourinho or Redknapp as his coach.

I reckon Carroll would still be crap regardless of who his manager is.

He looks a very frustrated and out-of-his-depth individual and things will just get tougher for him, as Torres is finding out at Chelsea.
