The Race for 4th....
Last year only one poster managed to correctly predict who would finish fourth.
So....who will finish fourth this year ? |

I would like it to be Arsenal or Newcastle, but I have to say Chelsea because they have a stronger squad and that always tells as we come into the last couple of months...

Spurs have got a very tough league schedule for the next couple of months with their next nine games being Man City(A), Wigan(H), Liverpool(A), Newcastle(H), Arsenal(A), Man United(H), Everton(A), Stoke(H) and Chelsea(A). That run will probably determine whether they'll be able to continue their impressive run or fall away.
Don't know what to expect from Chelsea this season, still too inconsistent and fragile, at best will probably finish third, but just as likely are going to miss out on the top four. Arsenal is a good bet to finish fourth I think, as long as Van Persie stays fit. Liverpool may get it going if Gerrard finds form and they don't drop too many points waiting for Suarez to return. Newcastle will finish somewhere around 6th or 7th. |

Think it will end up ;
United City Arsenal No idea of 4th. Would like it to end up ; United City Arsenal Newcastle Spurs Chelsea I think that the semi-final for Chelsea will be key (In both the Fa Cup and CL). If they manage to beat Barca and Spurs i'm sure that their confidence and expertise of finishing top 4 for the past few years will get them over the line. Spurs are weird, i thought they were sure on to get 3rd spot earlier in the season but they are playing strange. Harry needs to pull it together quickly or they could miss out on Europe altogether if they finish 6th and we get to the Fa Cup Final/Win it (wonder what the odds on that are). It's a chance for Bale/Modric and co to show what they are really made of. I know that Newcastle are probably the favourites to go on a good run as Cisse and Ben Arfa are in brilliant form but their defence is always going to be a weak point. |

. We had 3 shocking games that's hurt the perception of an otherwise decent defense. Fulham(5-2), Spurs(5-0) and Norwich(4-2), all away, account for 1/3rd of our GA tally so far. The other 28 GA came in the other 30 games played so far - less than 1 GA/game - which is pretty decent. Only Man United and Man City have more clean sheets; no shame in being 3rd in that group. I desperately wish we could pull it off but I think we're going to take 5th - and be happy with it. |
