RAWK Goes Into Meltdown (2012/2013)

A new season approaches. Fresh optimism is already creeping into the deluded folks minds over at RAWK. They probably still think they have the best squad in world football. The best supporters in world football. The best kit, the best tea lady and the best weather in world football.

And we love them for that.

Here's to another epic season - don't let us down RAWK.

Enjoy

Already posted in the old RAWK Meltdown thread but I'll start with:

One of my favourite things in football, seeing it near it's peak. 'Buck Rodgers' and buck tooth are going to bring them to a new level of greatness.

Some of my favorite classic RAWK moments.

A blast from RAWK's past. Just after Uruguay had beaten Ghana and Suarez handballed it:

Quote:
Quote from: Livbes on July 2, 2010, 10:17:05 PM
Suarez, hero or villain ?
Quote:
Fuck you suarez you dirty little buck toothed cheating slimey c*nt I hope that was your last game of the tournament.

Quote:
Fuck Uruguay

cheating c*nts
Quote:
c*nt.
Quote:
If FIFA had a fucking soul they'd ban Suarez for the rest of the tournament. Ghana were cheated of their deserved win because of that cuntish act.
Quote:
villain

c*nts trick like neville did in the derby when lucas had "won" it
Quote:
Dirty bastard cheering on his way down the tunnel when the lad missed the pen
Quote:
fucking cheating c*nt. Hope Holland fucking take them to the cleaners. Ghana were the better team. A young side can see them being a force in the next WC. Very impressed with their discipline.
Quote:
Who said cheats* never prosper?

*Dirty fucking, spineless, cheats at that

And from the Arsenal thread on RAWK:

The "I like the fact you underestimate Arsenal this season" thread never stops making me laugh.

After the 8-2 win:

Quote:
Should have sacked him after last season, oh well, have fun battling it out with Fulham for 8th.
Quote:
You're fucking crazy. 8th? Seriously, 8th?

8th?!

Fulham will never finish 8th
Someone then says:
Quote:
I think Arsenal will bounce back from this and will eventually have a good season
to which they reply
Quote:
Dont worry, I'll remember to come back and say neh neh you were wrong, when they crash out the CL and we finish above them in the CL places.
Quote:
Reina Szczesny
Johnson Sagna
Carragher Mertesacker
Agger Vermaelan
Enrique Santos
Lucas Song
Adam Wilshere
Gerrard Arteta
Downing Gervinho
Henderson Benayoun
Suarez RVP

I think we're stronger all over the park tbh.

We've also got more strength in depth with Kuyt, Carroll, Kelly, Skrtel, Maxi, Bellamy to come in, compared to their Ramsey, Arshavin, Park, Koscielny, Diaby, Chamakh.
Quote:
Europa League football next season for Arsenal.

Squad short on true quality and high on crocks. It wont be long until Yossi, Arteta, Van Persie, Rosicky, Walcott, Gibbs and Vermarlean get their bi monthly injuries and then before they know it Gervinho and Song will be jetting off for 6 weeks in Africa.

Not at all worried about them.
Quote:
An Arsenal fan said to me earlier he thinks Liverpool will fade toward the end of the season. An Arsenal fan!

Quote:
Arsenal fan on forum:

"4th.

We have a much better squad than Liverpool now."

Quote:
They won't get near 4th, half of their squad fucks off to the ANC in January for a month
I then say Arsenal have a better first 11 than Liverpool...

Quote:
That's what happens when brothers and sisters marry each other..
Quote:
Arsenal really, really, really don't have a better starting XI than us. Not a chance.
Quote:
What the hell has this got to do with Arsene and the pressure he's under? It's about your bollocks statement that despite losing their two best players Arsenal have a better first team than us, after our summer reinforcements.
Quote:
Reina > Schchchchezny
Johnson > Sanga
Carragher > Mertesacker
Agger > Vermalean (If he stays fit)
Enrique > Santos
Lucas > Song
Adam <> Wilshere (Yet to be seen how good either of them really are consistently, especially Wilshere now Fabregas and Nasri are gone)
Gerrard > Arteta
Suarez > Gervinho
Downing > Walcott
Van Persie > Carroll
Quote:
Lucas is a cut above Song, keeps the play ticking over in a way Song can't even approach. Van Persie might be class but Suarez is definitely as good if not better, and gets injured far less.
Love it.

Its amusing how accurate that "boom bust cycle" really is. Every season without fail its exactly what happens.

I don't know how accurate this is now, I remember reading a thread after brendan's appointment and most of the posters said they would be happy if they are even near the fourth place at the end of the season. Most of them looked realistic enough this time.

Of course it's not, you can't just stop laughing at them, it's harder to stop reading those ridiculous comments then quit smoking and I've managed to quit smoking so know what I'm talking about

Recently read their thread about world team of the year last season. And while they've really tried to maintain objective with the players chosen somehow Skrtel managed to get place on the bench.

See, you must applause and laugh at their delusion, since there's no other way of reacting to opinions that last year three best defenders in the world were Vincent Kompany, Thiago Silva and Martin Skrtel.

Is it not a tiny bit embarrassing that one of the main threads on the site is about Liverpool? And it's not just funny bits from RAWK, as it also becomes a general Liverpool commentary thread at times.

I get sucked into the RAWK lunacy at times as well, but ultimately it just gives them attention they are actively seeking.

What is the problem with this, exactly? Means there's one thread amongst the hundreds of incidental and ongoing threads over the the course of the year dedicated to laughing at the Scousers. You'd prefer to have new threads opened up every time they drop points? Maybe a new thread every time Suarez does something vile? Come on, then.

Lighten up, it's the internet - we laugh at them, it's rivalry and a bit of harmless fun. This thread isn't for in-depth chat about Liverpool Football Club - it's for checking out the comedy gems which the RAWK forums members serve up each and every season. Loads of us find this thread hilarious.

If you find it embarrassing, don't click on the thread and get involved.

I find the Messi/Ronaldo fanboi threads really embarassing personally, as are the matchday threads every single week. Guess what I do? I tend stay away from them, they don't interest me, they're pointless in MY OPINION but they entertain many other posters and that's cool with me.

Anyway, back to laughing at RAWKites now. Twigg, that post was fantastic mate.

I agree that the old thread should, IMO, be classic'd and locked. It was a magnificent year of Lunacy from the scousers. Also, yes this one can never be as good, but it is useful to have one place on the site where we can all visit to have a laugh at those poor deluded souls and not have tons of threads about them like they do for us. Also, it gives the loons a handy place to look to see what we are laughing at them for this week.

It's developed into more than just a RAWK thread, it's a Liverpool nutcase thread into which all manner of crap finds it's home. There was even some serious debate in last years one at times.

Don't worry I agree Irwin.
Last year was a peak vintage. Suarez, Kenny, 4th, Downing.. I think the grapes have turned..

I never understood this. It was just so ridiculous. So utterly loon.. People said he 'stood up' to SAF.. It was just so bizarrely loon.

What a fucking muppet.

I've been looking this evening, and sadly all I find is the meekest optimism and the odd semi-mental statement. I await a signing before the true bullishness begins.

What have we got to look forward to this year??

- Suarez biting/diving/kicking/racism/general scummyness
- Brendan Rodgers dealing with it sensibly (maybe)
- The fans turning on Rodgers as Suarez is bigger than Liverpool
- Carroll failing miserably
- Downing and Henderson being just as bad as ever
- Reina continuing his decline (scousers in denial)
- Gerrard getting injured
- The first game they dominate and draw/lose
- The first time they hit the post

What am I missing??

Definitely hitting the post I hope it's the difference between getting points.

How crazy they go when Carroll/Downing/Henderson have a slightly better season (how could they not?) is going to be great. They'll think they can dominate the world.
