It hit him on the shoulder. It was fortunate but it looked good.

Why not?

Look at Manchester United - all those years with unlimited funds at the top of the English game and what's their 'Champions' League haul? Look at Arsenal - all those years at the top of the English game and what's their 'Champions' League haul? Look at Chelsea - all those years with unlimited funds at the top of the English game and what's their 'Champions' League haul?
Unlimited funds available

Great player, bad decision-maker. Should have left after Istanbul to join an ambitious club. Despite his heroic status on Merseyside he has benn strangely targeted by a large minority. I wonder why?

This is true. He still runs the show, but it's not good enough for quite a few. I think he's viewed as a scally by some, and they think they're above that. Or they are not from Liverpool , and downgrade his contributions to the club as a scouse.
I've always thought there has been a bias against him from some so called supporters. Lucas, Suarez, and anyone for that matter might have had a decent game in which Gerrard has worked his socks off to feed them or cover for them and it's like he doesn't exist to these supporters.
It's been going on for years, even when he was at his best.

So its more the OOT's that have an issue with Gerrard? TBH over in Ireland among any Pool fans I know he's regarded as one of the true club greats despite the lack of a league medal. I think that's a fair assessment given his influence in 05.

The 'Mr Liverpool' shit must have been annoying even to many Liverpool supporters, much as 'Mr Chelsea' should have been with Terry.

Only player to score in FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup and League Cup finals? Bit silly considering most players who have the opportunity to score in Champions League finals, don't score in UEFA Cup finals. Ronaldo has the other 3 for example.

His flirtations with Chelsea left a sour taste in the mouth for some. Can't say I've ever seen much of this dislike towards him though.

Agreed, I've not seen many Liverpool fans who aren't head over heels in love with him. To the point of making me physically sick.

Key is that they seem to get so much leeway on so many little incidents in games where normally the ref would blow up for a fk for the opposition. They get play waved on for so many nightly little fouls, nudges, pulls, obstructions etc that the rest of us get given fouls and free kicks against.

Just watched the Manchester derby can't help come away but feeling completely disgusted. The favoritism towards United is really starting to ruin this league. The dive by little Fabio was never a Free Kick & ends up setting up the game winning goal. Just disgusting

Christ, what a shower of spastics.

I've even had a text from a City fan saying it would have been all over at 3-0 and that the officials helped them out.

its not just their supporters. The lies run through the shit of a club.

remember that Shelvey accusation?

The club actually believes that Fergie and the FA have a thing going to keep mighty Liverpool down

On a game where we don't get any decisions, they still create this shit.

How anyone can look at that Atkinson performance and think we benefited is completely beyond me. Perfectly legitimate goal ruled offside, stonewall penalty denied and Tevez / Balotelli were both very fortunate to not see red.

But still, this is like the next level of every delusion possible. So Rio, basically had the premonition or as RAWK would say, knowledge beforehand (what with Fergie paying off the officials and the FA and all that jazz) that we would score an injury time winner and then, he would go on try and 'pretend' to celebrate, all the while this remains a clever ruse to cut himself so cheekily, perhaps so cheekily that camera's can't even catch the sordid act, so cheekily that it puts Superman's turning-time-back-to-save-lois-lane act to shame just to get City supporters a bad name?

My word, we have some contriving old bastards here at Old Trafford, don't we?

It's really funny how they will rather see those plastic clubs like City or Chelsea win the league than us.

I mean they don't even realize that the rise of Chelsea and now City is part of the reason why they have become a mid table team.

Much more convenient to pretend it's because we pay off the refs and the league is corrupt.

They claim we get help from the officials and today we were favoured?!?

So we had a goal wrongfully ruled out, Young was clearly onside. We could/should have had a penalty when Evra was fouled. Tevez was lucky he wasn't sent off towards the end.

But yes you still believe we got favoured you scouse bastards
