Some cracking pre-match build-up... I had mistakenly thought that even if they'd beaten us, at best they'd have been fighting it out for third. Whereas in fact, it would've been ON:

"Those manc c**** are due for such a f***ing t***ting from us, now is as good a time as any with our current form. Pepe, Carra, Masch, Sami, Skrtel, Stevie and Torres are f***ing magic at the moment with Aurelio, Alonso, Babel, Lucas and Kuyt playing a very good supporting role as well.

Come on you manc t***s. Hope we go into the game with the attitude that we CAN win, even if we go a goal down."

"I'm already really excited about next year. If we don't hit hard in the summer transfer market then we have to go down as massive bottlers as a club, because we're close to being fantastic."

"Form certainly shows that we are the best team in the country at the moment."

"If we beat United and Chelsea beat Arsenal and the table reads:

United 67 points
Arsenal 67 points
Chelsea 67 points
Liverpool 62 points

With our goal difference being excellent as well, I admit it's very unlikely but if the results were to go that way next weekend I don't think you could deny we have got an outside chance if we can win the rest of our games."

"too many times in the last few years the league has been wrapped by the end of March. not this year. its all to play for. Lets beat the mancs. Then the blue s****. then let a*** chelsea and the mancs fight each other whilst we just pick up points.

everyone so far has bottled the top of the league when they have got there.. let the others throw it away and be unable to cope with the pressure... we can just carry on stacking up the points and see what happens.

its not finished yet. focus on sunday and enjoy it."

"who said a while ago on here that while he didn't think we'd win league he'd be happy if we were contenders in april

if we win on sunday are we contenders

i think we are

don't think we'll win it mind but we would be considered in the frame"

And my personal favourite:

"I'm gonna hold off on belief until sunday. if we win then its not quite ON but the hand will be on the switch by then."

After the match, re the difference between the sides:

"Better squad similar teams.

Through money.
Tevez, Nani, and Hargreaves on the bench. If Tevez is paid for that's £129 million on substitutes."

Andy @ Allerton appears to think we're going to pay 95 million pounds for Tevez...

Why do we have a united fan in that thread mocking the scousers???

We shouldn't need to resort to that level. Regardless of their 20 year form, they still are a big club with great achievements....

No need to go there and gloat.

Every time we win a few games in a row we get delusions of grandeur, it's fuckin' embarrasing. We are the fourth best team in england, full stop. Talk will of course now move to the champions league and how we will win that... we won't. There are at least three teams better than us in there, we can't always rely on the 'we're a different team in europe' angle, sooner or later our lack of quality will show. The fans will have to suffer the shit & the fall-out when we go back to work next week, the players main worry will probably be what super-car to buy next
Is he trying to say he thinks they're better than Barcelona?

I think I spent more times on RAWK than the Caf in the last month, since JOSH scored the winner at Anfield last year I enjoyed every seconds to invading this forum, just one word to describe "Hilarious".

You know Weaste you do come up with some daft and deluded comments. Christ we just beat our biggest rivals and having a laugh , im sure if there beat us the outside of liverpool fans would also be having a laugh.

Last time I looked it was 2008 the world is a smaller place and because I live down here in South Africa that does not make me any less of a supporter . You should be thanking us for spending money on our club and making United the club it is today not insulting us.

Perhaps United should hire out the home team communal bath as a birthing pool. That would ensure a legion of "true" fans in the future, and provide the Glazers with much needed revenue.

I don't qualify as a United fan according to one of the above definitions - being born in St Marys on Oxford Road my nearest ground was Maine Road and I should be supporting Citeh.

Sorry, but the problem here is that United fans that are not from manchester are picking up some weird anti-Liverpool thing to use against Liverpool supporters in their own locations that are also way away from Liverpool. Then, you are all trying to put it into the real mix and bastardising it. Non of you, non of you have the right to do that, and I will hate the fucking lot of those who continue to do so - keep your Liverpool - United rivalry to the people you know where you come from, but do not mix it up with the real thing.
this is about football clubs weaste, it's not a territorial border issue ... i grew up in dublin as a united fan in the late 70's and 80's and got slagged for years by Liverpool fans due to out ineptitude... as they were entitled to do ... now i'm sure kids in dublin are reversing the slagging and proper order ... united's link with ireland is integral to being the club it is , before scholes , neville and giggs, there was moran, mcgrath and stapleton, all from dublin. get a grip.

I much preferred being a Liverpool fan in the Moran, McGrath and Stapleton era. I also support my local clubs in the Sunday leagues here in Dublin and love to see them win but St. Annes is a far cry from Anfield or Old Trafford.

WeasteDevil in "I'm a spastic shocker".

I'd suggest everyone just ignore's him because the drival he's coming out with in here is borderline mental.

Some really good responses from them lot though, can't wait to be back at work on Friday to hear what my Liverpool mates have to say.

I know much about the history and rivalry between the two clubs. I don't know anything about Liverpool citizens. I laugh at Liverpool supporters, they may be from Liverpool or not.

Check this one out:

"It is definitely a three-horse race, and there's a question of whether it could be four. Liverpool haven't had a great Premiership season so you haven't really looked at them. They might be 11 points behind... but if they could beat [Man United], they could be right back in it. Three weeks ago, Arsenal were five points clear, so it shows how quickly it can turn around."

"Good post.

I would say United's set pieces against us are "playing the percentages". The Tevez goal at Anfield had a certain amount of luck involved in it, but, I don't begrudge United that goal, as essentially I view it as begrudging them winning the lottery, when we never bought a ticket."

So effectively, this scouser claims that the chances of Tevez scoring the winner in front of the kop end are around 8 million to 1.
