he could well do. He's been excellent this season. And if we win the league IMO he's going to have to keep up that form. Should we and hence should he, I see nonresson why he can't win it.

But at the same time if we win the league Rooney ail probably have to get a lot of goals and even if fletcher plays better than him it's likely that the former will get it.

He has "tremendous assets for a wide player" as Fergie put it. Producing 20 shots on target in 9 (started) premier league games, assisting 2 goals and scoring 2 (4 in all games) himself, these are signs of a promising start. Having to mantle the burden of "replacing Ronaldo" coming from a relatively smaller club, he's really proving his worth as our only out-and-out winger.

Drogba's omission from this line up is looking that little bit more ludicrous after today eh!

And he was probably your best player today.

Drogba's a staggeringly good forward. I remember a time when I thought Torres and Drogba weren't actually all that.

For fuck's sake.

Drogba, Fletcher and van Persie are the top 3 so far.

Gotta give Bent a mention. He's scored big goals against big teams.

I'd go with Evra but, as it's already been said, it could go to any one of about 5 players at the moment.

I feel that a few players are (should be) nailed on already in the team of the season. Central midfield should be Fabregas and Fletcher, up front has to be Drogba and Rooney. Evra is a pretty obvious choice too, and Friedel between the sticks I suspect.

Before Arsenal game - Rooney or Fabregas

After Arsenal/Chelsea - Rooney or Drogba

It will come down the golden boot race between Drogba and Rooney, obviously.

I thought lampard was flying under the radar with a great season but it will be Rooney, if not him Drogba.

Has to be Rooney or Drogba. Probably the player who's team win the title will get it.
