Thats an incredible strike. It gets the kind of dip you usually only see when the ball is already bouncing when struck.

I do find this unbelievable though, I honestly don't think there is another player who can do this within three seasons at a new league and club.

C. Ronaldo

292 Game 118 Goals (United Career)
122 Games 120 Goals (Madrid Career)

That's got to be one of the best records at the highest level? It looks like 09/10 is the only season - his first - where he will finish La Liga with less goals than games played, which is completely fucked.

Ronaldo for Real in La Liga only....

Real Madrid Games 85 Goals 93

Is there anyone in history that has a strike rate like that in one of the top leagues?

Remember the old football manager games when players would play 40 games and get 50 goals and people who didn't play it would scoff and say pfffft, well that's realism for you.

It was just ahead of its time. Or Ronaldo's goal scoring ability isn't real.

Aye, he's better than anyone at striking up and through the ball off the end of his foot. All the more effective with the modern ball.

They even had the foresight to have free-role, second/wide-striker types to bang in the half-century of goals.

But of course, they always get it so accurate with their predictions on who will turn out to be a class player that its natural that they spot footballing trends years in advance.

1 in every 6 seasons with us.
Lots of doubles though.

14 in two and a half seasons with Real Madrid - only Puskas and Di Stefano have scored more career hattricks for them.

He's now 12th in their all time top scorers list (level with Juanito, two ahead of Ronaldo I) and that third goal last night was Madrid's 4000 in the Bernabeu.

Marca also point out that with 27 goals so far, he's already scoresd more than 47 previous full season pichichi winners, including RvN in 2007.

Can you tell I was talking to a Madrid fan (el Statto) last night?

It's amazing to think that he's still getting some stick from Real Madrid fans. He may not be performing in El Clasico games, but he performs and scores against everyone else in the league. If they win the league, it's largely going to be down to him. I don't think he gets as much appreciation as he should get there.

Marco Negri once finished top goalscorer in Scotland for Rangers with 32 league goals, despite his season ending at Christmas time due to injury. This included 23 goals in his first 10 league games at the club. This is what Ronaldo's goalscoring feat in Spain is comparative to. A couple of tricky games against opposition at a competitive standard to yourself, and then hammering the cannon fodder.
