Senderos 'loaned' out

I reckon its the end of him at arsenal.

And since traore is loaned out too, i guess silvestre is covering up for CB and fullback then.

source: telegraph

Philippe Senderos quits Arsenal for AC Milan
AC Milan have completed the signing of Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos on a one-year loan deal, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan have been in the hunt for a centre-back for some time now due to persistent injuries picked up by Alessandro Nesta and Paolo Maldini.

The Rossoneri have already sold Dario Simic and Digao, while their proposed move for Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic fell through at the last minute.

That left coach Carlo Ancelotti with a defensive headache, and the loan signing of 23-year-old Senderos ensures Milan have cover at the back with the new Serie A season starting this Saturday.

Milan also have the option to make the move permanent for a set fee next summer, and a transfer to the San Siro would seem likely as the Swiss international has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal.

Manager Arsene Wenger signed Mickael Silvestre from Manchester United last week - a firm indication that he does not see Senderos' future at the Emirates.

Senderos made 74 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals, after his move to London from Servette in Dec 2002.

What are Milan thinking? They are supposed to be good at defending. Is Senderos the long-term replacement for Paolo Maldini? Great replacement.

The most confusing start to a thread ever seen.

Senderos to AC Milan was always going help that.

It's in the Daily Mail that its a loan for for 12 months with an agreement to sign him for £6million next summer.

Epic Fail as far as Milan are concerned.

Something is wrong at AC Milan. First Ronnie and now Senderos? Ronnie at least has talent, although it's hard to spot it these days.

Senderos isn't as bad as everyone's making out. £6m for him would be a great deal. Concentration is something that can be worked on, who better to teach him than brilliant defenders(in their day) like Nesta, Costacurta and Maldini. Other than concentration he is a good defender.

I have a feeling he'll do well in Italy.

On a side note, I read something about Djourou to Rennes or something...squad's too thin to let that happen.

To be frank I was gutted when he chose Arsenal over United.

Can't help wondering how it will turn out if he had came to United instead. Same for that le Tallec and Pongolle duo.

He is as error prone a player as you will see in the PL.

I read somewhere that one of the main reasons he gets picked for Arsenal's first team is because he is fluent in several languages.

I think it will only be a matter of time before Milan realise they have a real duck egg & try and get out of this agreement to sign him for £6million.

And you believe that?

If he does go to Milan for £6m next year, and I expect him to, then it should prove he's not as bad as everyone else thinks.

Well I find it difficult to believe that he was selected for his footballing ability.

Italy's a different proposition so maybe it'll help his development, in my opinion that is something he needs, to develop.

Apparently he is faultless in training, he just bottles it on the big stage.

Not a great loss, but I would rather we have kept him, just to keep a little squad depth. Won't ever be a hit in the PL, but with a season or two in Italy, he'll make a good player for somebody, if not Milan.

Isn't Arsenal loaning out or selling alot of their players suddenly?

They will have even less debt than other years now

It might be biased, but IMO Silvestre is a vastly better defender than Senderos. Considering your DM problems, do you think Toure could be used as a DM? If so, Silvestre might fill in beside Gallas.

Maybe... If we can't get a DM in, then that will probably be my preferred line up.

He seems to have the tools to do a decent job there, athletic and packs a shot, pace to make up for positional errors. What I can't understand is why Diaby seems to be the preferred partner to Fabregas, care to enlighten me? IMO Diaby looks like an offensive midfielder.
