Serie A 2011-2012

Fixture list

Very tough start for AC Milan, they`re playing Lazio, Napoli, Udinese and Juventus on the first six matchdays.

The Score here in Canada will play Serie A games all season on Sundays.

From what I saw it is a really slow league. But from nothing you get to see some incredible through passes and some awesome free kicks and long range screamers.

They used to show the late Sunday PL games but I guess lost the rights.

We've got it tougher. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham at home and Bolton and Stoke away.

Kick off is at 1pm.

That Veetle stream (set as my homepage) is apparently showing it after first half of MUPC final. I think.

Working well as part of the front three as compared to being one of the centrocampisti.

I would replace the word slow with tactical

Lazio haven't won at San Siro since 22 years and now they're 2-0 up after 22 minutes + they're playing amazing football.

Milan look short of ideas. But Aquilani should have scored before Lazio did. It would have been different. Gattuso injured himself by tackling Nesta - yes, they are on the same team.

2-1 now. Good ball from Aquilani over the top of Lazio's defence to Cassano and he squared it to Ibra.

The 2nd half has turned so ... Italian! Boring!

Both teams have squandered some good chances, mind.

Good game. Thought some of Milan's passing in the final third was excellent, while Lazio were vibrant going forward.

Good first half at least. Second half was quite boring. Lazio decided to stop trying to score.

I think Cissé could turn out to be a great signing for Lazio. When on form, he's actually very good. Sad that his injury at Liverpool happened, in retrospect.

I worried about Lazio before the season started, but some of their play in the opposition half when they were actually concerned with putting the ball in the back of the net was quality.

Napoli 1-0 against Cesena within 3 minutes. No idea what the Cesena defense was doing.

This Roma-Cagliari match is pretty terrible viewing. It's incredibly slow and boring. It was only a few years who Roma played quick attacking football; the same can't be said for today.

EDIT: 70 minutes in and it finally gets interesting. Cagliari 1-0 up and Roma are down a man.

I've rarely seen a lethargic period of a match as the 20-25 minutes I watched.

Inter drop Sneijder.

Inter: 1 Julio Cesar; 6 Lucio, 25 Samuel, 4 Zanetti; 42 Jonathan, 5 Stankovic, 19 Cambiasso, 55 Nagatomo; 28 Zarate, 22 Milito, 7 Forlan

Subs : Orlandoni, Pazzini, Sneijder, Alvarez, Obi, Ranocchia, Castaignos

They're away to Palermo. Interesting to see how Zarate, Milito and Forlan works.

Oh and no Pazzini starting either. He's been their best player in pre season. Strange not to see him or Sneijder start considering they're their best players.

Hopefully this is as good as the Milan Lazio game.

Serie A hasn't been boring for years. That stereotype should have died awhile ago. There's always plenty of goals these days. However, what's happened is that the overall quality of the league has taken a hit since Calciopoli. When Serie A as a whole was stronger the games were tighter because the standard of player was a lot better. It reminds me of the English league of two decades past very exciting but not stacked with top drawer technical ability and still beset with branding problems although I think Italy today is in a worse place than England was with racism and thuggery back in 1991. If they could undergo a Premier League style revolution however that could all change as the product itself can be pretty enthralling and there's no end to the end to end action.
