For all their possession after the Inter goal, Milan haven't created much, have they.

I read that was only Sneijder's 7th appearance of the season. He'd have made Veron and Berbatov look like bargains of the century had we actually gone ahead and signed him.

He's been injured a lot... Injured at the start of the season, injured some time in November, injured when on international duty...

My thoughts too. He's older than Giggs and has been playing at least 50 games each season for Inter for the last 5 years. A good guy on and off the field.

Yup, that was one of the biggest reasons for not signing him as well as the fact that he wasn't actually a central midfielder and would have had to play where Rooney does now.

If we don't win the league this season is anyone really going to look back at the failure to sign Sneijder or Nasri in the Summer as one of the biggest reasons? I certainly won't be.

The number of games he's played the seasons before this one is comparable to Rooney.

He does have a knack of picking up thigh injuries every now and then but this is the first real period he's struggled with injuries in a while - you couldn't predict that beforehand.

In his last four seasons he's never appeared in more than two thirds of his club's league games. He has a very long history of muscle injuries that could quite reasonably have been assumed to have an even greater affect on him as he got older. Of course you could have predicted it. I fucking did anyway.

Juventus beat Udinese 2-1 at home last night. Very entertaining match, Juve took the lead 1-0 but were clawed back. Matri got his second and the winner towards the end for what was a deserved victory in the end. Juventus are still unbeaten, they have done remarkably well this season. They have always been the other team that I follow and it's great to see them back in amongst the top of the table and now 4 points clear but Milan have a game in hand tonight against Cagliari.

I hope Juve can keep it up, Antonio Conte has done an amazing job to take a team that finished 7th in the last two seasons to top of the table at this point and to still remain unbeaten. Players like Buffon and Chiellini have been key at the back, Lichtsteiner and ofcourse Pirlo has been a great addition and has added real class to the midfield. But for me, players like Marchisio and Matri have been crucial and have improved beyond expectation this season - I'm not sure what the exact reason behind that is (more maturity, new system, new manager etc) but it has really been a driving force for Juve this season. Conte has really brought back the pride of playing for Juventus and instilled that into the players. The new and intimidating stadium has also been a factor as it is sold out week-in, week-out and it has given Juventus a worthy home. Whether they can keep this up for the rest of the season is still yet to be seen though but it has been an excellent season so far.

A gooorgeous free kick from the Zlat-man, there. 1-0 vs Cagliari so far

He really was built for Serie A, wasn't he? He's like King Midas at Milan compared to being a bit bobbins at Barca.

Rodrigo Palacio with an early entry in the goal of the season stakes for Genoa against Lazio.

He flicked on a corner from the near post to the far post, over his head with his back to goal, from about 10-15 yards while running away from the target.

9 seconds into the second half, Genoa score their third goal. I'm not convinced Lazio's defenders have ever met before.

More importantly, how long before Sneijder drops his wage demands in frustration?

Funny that as soon as Inter suddenly looked like they would make a surge towards the Champions League, things start to fall apart once again. Incredible the way things have changed there.

And he shows yet again he's more than just a goal-getter with a brilliant ball in behind the defence for Lavezzi there.

3-0 to Bologna and the Inter supporters have lost it.

They had a long shot from behind Cesar for the goal and as Aquafresca starts his run there you can see Sneijder start shaking his head, he knew he had scored before he even shot

Cassani's a really poor defender. Very good going forward, probably even better than Maggio...but he's such a liability at times.

I think he'll be sacked now. A home loss to Novara followed up by another home loss to Bologna. I can't see them getting into the Champions League and now that Capello is available, I wouldn't be surprised to see him there soon.

Napoli played well and Lavezzi's goal was a great finish. Was a bit disappointed by Jovetic tonight, although in fairness he didn't have a lot of support. I agree with Brwned about Cassani. He really isn't a good defender and was certainly a weak link tonight.

Ranieri must be close to the sack? I know they missed Milito tonight but that’s 3 losses on the bounce and with Napoli next theres a good chance it could be four, surely Morrati’s losing patience with him.

They’re going to need to spend some money as well because they’ve got so many old players still starting for them, Lucio, Samuel, Cesar, Milito, Forlan, Zanetti are all comfortably over 30. Maybe they’ll sell Sneijder to finance a rebuild? He must be starting to think about a move and it wouldn’t be the worst thing for Inter to do, he hasnt even played much this year.

Just been watching the first half of Cesena vs AC Milan.Milan are playing without some of their best players and they're winning comfortably so far 0-2, I've been extremely impressed with Emmanuelson, I never thought he'd be this good.My opinion isn't based on this game alone obviously.AC Milan play some marvelous football it has to be said
