Stoke's Shawcross aiming to prove Man Utd wrong

Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross is desperate to show Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson he was wrong to sell him last season.

"I can't wait for the new season to start to be honest with you," Shawcross told stokecityfc.com. "Last season was an unbelievable experience for me and hopefully next year will be the same.

"I want to show Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson that they were wrong for letting me leave the club.

"I still have a lot of friends up there and it will be good to see them again, but the main concern will be to do well for Stoke and show I can compete in the Premier League."

Nothing wrong with a bit of self belief, can you imagine him saying

"Sir Alex was right letting me go, i was never going to make the 1st team because i just wasn't good enough"

I hope he does well, like all the ex Manchester United lads.
