SPL title

It's not over... Celtic 8 points clear now, admittedly Rangers have 4 games in hand, but 4 of their last 6 are away

COME ON THE HOOPS!

and going by recent weeks, at least 5 of them are probably against Celtic

I'm not quite sure how that would work

I thought there was one more at Parkhead, but checking the fixtures, there isn't.

What a fecked up excuse of a league.

How can one team have four games in hand at this stage?

and why have all the Celtic vs Rangers fixtures been put within a few weeks of each other?

Rangers have four games in hand for a few reasons. We played today, they play tomorrow. There was a run of really bad weather in March; a couple of cup replays; the SFAs stupid decision to postpone the entire league programme the weekend before the Scotland v Italy game; Rangers decision to cancel a game against Gretna to give them time to prepare for their CL game against Lyon; and ultimately their UEFA Cup run giving them no free midweeks.

The Glasgow derbies were bunched together because the New Year game was postponed following the death of Phil O Donell. But yes, it is a shit league, tbh.

Anyway. Rangers need to win 5 of their last 6 games. Including the UEFA final, they have 7 games in the next 18 days. I think Celtic have a wee chance still.

What's the point of making them play 38 games a season though? It's not like Scotland have teams good enough for that, nor it is possible that out of any 3 games Gretna or some other team will play against either Rangers or Celtic will have any bearing on title.

That's no excuse. This is Scotland we're talking about; there's a run of really bad weather during every month.

and since when did teams get to just decide they're going to cancel one of their league games?

I'd sooner have the points in the bag. If Celtic win their remaining league games I think they will win it as Rangers have too many games in that short period, they're bound to fuck up.
I couldn't give a fuck mind..

Well they might have to come to the fortress pitodrie to win the title & we would love nothing less than them losing it at our ground.

I must admit though i'm unlike most dons supporters & would prefer Rangers to win the quad.
I really dislike Strachan & his arrogance, any person that's a Leeds legend doesn't deserve any respect.
For all the Celtic fans, what do you think about Strachan?

He was perhaps the best player that I ever saw in an Aberdeen shirt. Does that not count for anything with you?

Huns drop points at Hibs. 8 points ahead, and Rangers have 3 in hand.

Mon the hoops!

not quite sure what you mean...

gretna almost took ppoints off celtic, they were beating them 1-0 with a few mins to go, although celtic got 2 late goals! Theres a few good teams in the spl , hibs, who have beat both old firm and drew today with rangers.... dundee united , have beat rangers and should have beat them a couple more times! Aberdeen had a good run in the uefa and beat celtic in the league i think , also put them out the scottish cup. Motherwell have beat celtic recently ... the league has split into 2 now so gretna or any other bottom 6 sides have no bearing on the title... the games left in the top half are quite competative as the 3rd, 4th, 5th , and even 6th sides are all in with a chance of a uefa spot . Far more interesting than which one of the old filth wins the league anyway!
