Terry's second yellow

Seemed to be for nothing much in particular.

There's been suggestions that he may have said something of a racist nature to Ledley King, hence the reaction of the Spurs players. Furthermore, Terry didnt complain, which he surely would've done, if he was dismissed for a challenge that appeared to be nothing.

Could it be that England's brand-spanking new captain has failed when it comes to leading by example?

I wonder, if this IS actually true, whether it'll come out in the press.

my first thought was that it was for diving

i doubt it was racist considering half the Chelsea team is african

I dont think the fact that Chelsea have some players of African origin means Terry wouldnt have said something racist, in the heat of the moment.

If you look at it again, SWP has a look of sheer disbelief on his face, as he's pulling Terry away from the situation.

People who claim to have black friends often come out with racist shite, so having some black teammates doesnt mean Terry is beyond it.

Yeah, it was odd. Didn't look like a foul, and didn't think the ref was going to take any action. Looked like one of those cases where he was influenced by the reaction of the players.

Terry and Carvalho both often take the piss in the box, though. Arms everywhere.

I thought when the cross came in terry was trying to mount king and king wasn't having it. Other then that, it might be because terrys always a moaning tosser which is a fair enough yellow card. He's overdue anyway

It seemed to have been an example of Graham Poll just wanting to get involved in the 'big game'.

He was whistling and going for Terry from the start, dunno if Terry had a chance to say anything before Poll was already whistling at him.

Watching it with my mates, the first reaction was that he said sth racist, simply because all the black players were quick to get on him. Also, he didnt seem to argue with the card. But if he did say sth racist, I thought that would be a str8 red. So either Poll has booked him for a nothing foul, or he has saved Chelsea an extra two game ban.

I was wondering about that as well. Terry didn't even put up much of a protest when he was shown the second yellow. There wasn't anything physical in it so indeed he probably did say something that ticked off Chimbonda and the lot.

At some point just after the incident Terry shoulder-pushed a Tottenham player - it looked like Poll was reacting because of this 'push'.

Didn't look like a yellow card though.

It certainly didnt, yet Terry accepted the punishment without a word of argument...which suggests to me that he was guilty of more than just a little push.

I've not seen the incident as of yet, just saw something about Terry been sent off in the Man United Forum. If he has said something racist I reckon a few of the Chelsea lot will be having words with him.

Watching the game, I thought he was unlucky cause I couldn't see what he done wrong. Some of the posts mentioned possible racist remarks which could make sense, what with the reaction of the black players on both sides. If it was racist then surely a five to ten match ban is in order. Then again why didn't Poll give a straight red? Hmmmmmm

I seriously doubt it was racist and people really shouldn't start rumors. So there were black people in the vacinity, well hold the back page...it's hardly conclusive proof. I don't like the guy, I think he's a good player mind you. Terry was moaning at poll during the game, I think poll saw the sholder charge and decided he'd had enough of his attitude problem. The fact he didn't argue about the sending off really doesn't matter. At the time I thought when the ball was crossed maybe terry pulled king down with him but none of us know. Incidenty poll is a glory hunter so will no doubt be pleased at his days work

I can imagine it being impossible as a ref, to not become irritated by Terry's constant whinging. He's at it every time the game stops

Nobody said it was conclusive. But all we CAN do is speculate, we dont have any good lip readers on the case right now. While you might say it didnt matter that he didnt argue with the second booking, dont forget that he ran straight up to Poll in the first half when he thought Poll didnt wave him on quickly enough. Like you said he was moaning all game, then why stop after being sent off for a shoulder charge. There was nothing that warranted a booking in the incident, so once again we can only speculate.

We're speculating a notion, no one knows for sure. But we witnessed an incident and are speculating based on what happened.

How can that compare with you speculating about a poster on here, who you've never seen or spoken to?

You call it silly, i think your missing the bigger picture, primarily cause your the one that started the thread here :-). It's irrelevent what he said, it's a mute point and i won't lose sleep if you disagree with my methods of making a point. So i'm asking you did you think it was racist? You can start speculation but I just think it's 'silly' to spread something like this, unless you saw the incident and thought it was racist. If you thought it was racist then explain why you thought it was racist. People can speculate god we all got ideas, but I saw nothing racist and to be honest it's none of our business even if it was. I just don't see it and I think it's not right. You get people spreading rumors and before you know it people will start believing it
