Send a message via MSN to Dave89
Mancini:

"I'm happy with what Carlos said. Tomorrow [Thursday] I will talk to him. I've accepted his apology. There's a chance he can play for Manchester City again. I think he needs two or three weeks to train, and some games, but if he's ready in two or three weeks that's normal."

That's the difference between Manchester United and Manchester City.

Tevez would never play for Manchester United again.

Clubs bend over for their star player/s nowadays. Not surprised.

I really hope they didn't write this apology behind his back taking advantage of the fact that he doesn't speak English..

Still, it's been really fun watching those two (Tevez and City) embarrass themselves like that..

Kia said on SSN just after Tevez' interview was broadcast last week that Tevez would be apologising to Mancini so the apology on the City website was most likely written by his advisors/representatives.

Don't think that will happen no matter how we would like it to be.Tevez needs to put himself in the shop window and the club need to showcase him while taking any benefit he may give on helping them win the PL.And it would not surprise me if he even stays on,no one expected Mancini to welcome him back.

Well it certainly wasn't written by Tevez, the illiterate cunt muscle.

Why can't he just get hit by a bus?

It's a risk that he'll energize them, the group of heartless mercenaries that they are, but there's definitely a huge risk to City as far as the dressing room and how the players look at this. I certainly don't see Balotelli being happy about it, and Tevez will just act like he deserves it and rub it in everyone's faces.

If I had to bet I'd say this is a good thing for us.

Carlos Tevez was clapped by the Manchester City support and scored his first goal for the club since May with a 50th-minute strike in the elite development squad's 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers reserves in the Manchester Senior Cup at Hyde on Tuesday evening.
This still cracks me up.

Carlos Tevez mobbed by Manchester City fans | The Sun |Sport|Football

Don't worry Carlos, all is forgiven.

Hilarious how City fans have suddenly forgot what he said about them and there club. As long as he's back and can help them win the title eh?

Tiring.

Making a few comments and signing a new deal a few days later is now the same as refusing to come on the pitch during a game and going AWOL for 5 months.

Think what you want, there are similarities. You cut your star player some extra slack if it means you winning trophies.

Did Rooney slag off Manchester? Have a go at the manager? Swan round Europe having photos taken with executives from other clubs? Complain that he'd been treated like a dog? Threaten to sue the club? etc. etc. etc.

Pffft... Similarities, my arse...

Besides, the United fans took quite a while to warm to Rooney again. Mobbing Tevez after a run-out for the reserves is absolutely pathetic.

Try betraying SAF's trust, openly questioning the clubs ambition, putting himself above the team, disrupting our season. All for a pay rise. It didn't even seem like he was trying to force a move away from the club. He had no problem brazenly disrupting our season for a bit of personal gain. Not to mention his usual off the field antics over the last few years, him missing the Blackburn game at OT the latest in a long line.

I'm sure fans of other clubs would find our stance highly amusing.

I was there at OT when Rooney made his return (it was the game after Rangers away if I remember correctly). He was given a great reception and his name was sung in the Stretty, much to the dismay of many (including myself). People conveniently forget this. There are plenty of City fans who don't care for Tevez, but they aren't going to be arsed going to a reserve game and boo him.

Err.. They're all the same thing.

He questioned the club's ambition and refused to sign the contract being offered to him. Only to sign it 48 (or was it 24?) hours later. And that's it.

Whether the change at heart was down to a pay-rise or assurances about future transfer spending we'll never know. Rooney is adamant it's not the former and nobody at the club ever contradicted him.

The difference between that scenario and the Tevez fiasco are many and varied.

"Many and varied"? Simply put, they both acted like tools and caused their managers severe embarrassment and, ultimately, both were welcomed back by the fans since they're quality players. That's a pretty big similarity.

Sure. But to say there are no similarities whatsoever and call City fans who didn't boo/abuse him on his return to action pathetic? Red tinted glasses are well and truly on.

Yes. As detailed in mine and Sharky's post, higher up the page.

The differences are much bigger and more significant than the similarities. I mean, obviously.

SAF did treat Rooney differently to how he has treated other players for much smaller infractions. So it is fair to make the comment that both SAF and Mancini have made exceptions for their star players.

But other than that, the behaviour of the two players cannot really be compared. And there is no way SAF would have let Rooney get away with doing what Tevez did. Tho I dont think it would have ever gotten to that, SAF would have nipped it in the bud before it got to that.

And now you should celebrate this moral superiority, instead of accepting that every club has its set of fickle fans and I am not saying fickle fans are inherently bad its just that they are different nature wise, which many of us don't like.

If I remember rightly, Neville said in his autobiography that he questioned Rooney on what was going on the morning after it all broke and Rooney told him it was sorted and he was staying. So possibly even less than that.

Rooney acted like a cock, but it wasn't even close the same realm as the shit Tevez was up to.
