I've always thought Titus Bramble made a better Steptoe than Zidane.

better at what?

Bramble is better at being shite, whilst Zidane is better at bottling it during big matches; however, because Titus Bramble never figures in "big" matches it is difficult to compare them on this level.

In fairness to the Chief, Reflectorby, last year you too were claiming that you can't compare two players who play in different positions

What's happened to turn you against this amazing theory?

In fairness, Zidane has won World, Euro and Champions League Honours, not to mention various league titles from around Europe.

Titus Bramble hasn't.

From the wikipedia page on Titus Bramble:

"Despite representing England frequently at Under-21 level, he has yet to make the transition to the full team due to frequent unexplainable lapses in concentration whilst playing."

They are actually very similar it seems, Zidane had occasional lapses in judgement while playing.

I reckon Zidane would be better than Bramble at pretty much everything, including being a big black man called Titus.

Apparently, your comparison is not far off.

More from wikipedia:

"Although he blatantly has the strength, pace and passing ability to be effective, his infamous pairing with Jean-Alain Boumsong at the heart of Newcastle's defence was dubbed as 'The Chuckle Brothers live show' due to frequent errors and mishaps."

Seems he's not really supposed to be shite.

Yeah. I'm a spastic for refusing to compare a one of the world's worst defenders ever, with one of the greatest attacking players in world football ever....

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for Bramble.

But seeing as I'm not retarded, I won't.

Congrats, Rubberman.

And before you say 'That's ridiculous'...

He thinks we can't compare players in different positions.

He also thinks that Richardson is as talented as Giggs.

A pathetic attempt at rapping or ragga. In Jamaica and U.S. of A you'd be burnt at the stake for such thoughtless rubbish. Which you dimply can't keep to your "Maradona is better defender than O'shea" typed theories

Bramble, without a doubt. There's no one I would like to see play for whichever opposition we're up against. Absolute legend of a player.

I don't think that. I know you can't.

Who's the better in between:

1. Peter Schmeichiel and Franz Beckenbauer

2. Paolo Maldini and Henry?

3. Gary Neville and Ian Wright?

4. Stan Collymore and Celestine Babayaro

5. Dieter Eilts and Peter Cech

Surely PSmith it's wise and intelligent to compare them

Say, if we could pin some kind of criminal record on him, do you think Rafa might be tempted into buying him in the summer? That would be cool.

To say one player is better than another, you believe him to have more talent on a football pitch, and would rather have him in your team(theoretically), than the other player.
Just to be 100% clear here Rubber, you do not believe that we can compare Zinedine Zidane to Titus Bramble?

1. You used the right term theoretically. Theoretical things are at times very illogical.

2. Answer me these two questions first?

A. If you had one defence position left and playing 4-4-2 was mandatory. He would you choses as a center back Zidane or Bramble?

If you chose Bramble does that mean he is better than Zidane?

B. In the same vein if you had to chose on attacking player, and you chose Zidane? Can yo say Zidane is a better attacker when Bramble is a defender by trade without sounding utterly stupid?

Is it not like saying I'd rather start Roy Keane instead of Henry. or pele instead of Schmeichiel?

You tell us honestly

Because I'm finding it had to see how a defender can be said to be having more talent than an attacking player, or vice versa when their sphere of influence and their roles, plus skills or talents required for those roles are so different
