Worst piece of journalism this week
£80m to spend
Here's how Manchester United might invest the massive windfall from a sale of Ronaldo... Karim Benzema: Cost: £25m Failed to make an impact as France bowed out of Euro 2008 early on, but Benzema, 20, is one of the most exciting centre-forwards to emerge in the past 18 months. Ferguson admires his powerful running, willingness to shoot from distance and combination play. Micah Richards: Cost: £18m Regarded by many as the ideal candidate as Gary Neville's permanent replacement at right-back. Richards is unlikely to pass up the chance to play his club football alongside his England team-mate Rio Ferdinand although it remains to be seen whether City would sell to their neighbours. Luis Fabiano. Cost: £18m Prolific for both Seville and Brazil, the centre forward would be an ideal choice to share the goal scoring burden with Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez after scoring 33 times in Spain's La Liga last season. Dimitar Berbatov: Cost: £19m With Louis Saha's days at Old Trafford appearing numbered, Berbatov's arrival would bring a smile back to the face of United fans should Ronaldo leave. The Bulgarian forward has scored 27 goals in 69 Premier League outings at Tottenham, bringing keen interest from Ferguson. Lionel Messi: Cost: £20m ![]() The exciting Argentina international caught the eye during Barcelona's Champions League semi-final exit by United and is regarded by some as a better player than Ronaldo. His fast, raiding style would fit in with United's attacking mantra. Philipp Lahm of Bayern Munich is a possibility, however United have signed teenage Brazilian twins Fabio and Rafael Silva, though mystery still surrounds their exact status. Up front there's a need to bring in a new striker to lessen the burden on Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez. Due to Louis Saha's injuries, he could be heading out of Old Trafford. Sevilla's Luis Fabiano has been linked in this position. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mai.../sfntim123.xml |

I think the world nodded in agreement as the writer correctly asserted that Micah Richards is worth only a mere £2million less than Lionel Messi
![]() Seriously, if I put my mind to it I could easily be a far better journalist than most of these chumps. Frankly most of us could be (a dangerous claim on the Caf I know) |

![]() I love how this guy talk about Messi as if he's some unknown kid who the world has only now spotted because of the match against us. I doubt he pays much attention to what's happening outside of England. |

Barca would never sell Messi and I can't imagine him ever wanting to leave. I doubt they'd even accept a straight swap deal, Ronaldo for Messi. £20 million isn't even close to what hes worth.

Could be realistic, although i wouldn't pay £20m for Quaresma and Ronaldinho for £10m is cheap for a player of his calibre but he is a risk, who knows what you will get from him. It is a gamble.

It makes more sense if they switched the prices around. I haven't seen much of Quaresma so I won't comment on him but he can't be all that when people have been talking about his talent for years but not much about his performances. |

Probably the same journalist who suggested about 3 or 4 years ago that United were looking to sign Pablo Aimar as a long term replacement for Keane.

Telegraph went completely bonkers about a month ago I'd guess they've got a new sports editor who wants to be down with the tabs.
