I'd back England. With Shilton (or Banks) in goal, Rio and Moore at centreback, and midfield of Edwards, Robson, Charlton, they'd have a colossal spine. Scotland's strikers (Law, Dalglish) might be better than England's.

Barnes was truly awful at international level. He'd get nowhere near an all time England eleven.

I reckon the scots would do them. More steel, more flair and better strikers.

Still it would be epic and too close to call i think.
