Last year Ronaldo had more than 20 assists.

You lot seem to forget what Ronaldo is capable of, thats why I'm making my video project. It will remind you of certain moments where Ronaldo did the things you are talking about in you last two posts. He's more than capable of moving the game forward from a static position, its just that he changed his style of play a lot more. If Messi sees an opportunity to dribble he will do it, Ronaldo is looking for the pass more often nowadays.

Now can a mod please answer my question? Where should I create the thread for my videos?

Alright, maybe I can not recall every single game of Ronaldo, I watch a lot of games in a season, not only United games, and it happens that I forget. What I say is just what is often generally admitted for both players, but I'll be waiting for your video !

Somehow I am seeing similar traits in Messi the only difference being that when Ronaldo did it because of his style it was deemed as showboating and him dubbed a one trick pony.

Players have different playing styles BUT the stuff that matters is their effectiveness. Incidentally I don't think Ronaldo de Lima has ever scored 41 goals and counting in a single season in Europe.

For some the grass may be greener on the other side BUT for me I'll rather sit on it right here at home.

No chance of a swap, I'm sticking with our diving, overrated, one trick pony with no end product, ahem step forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Good paragraph that except for that one mistake, Ronaldo scored 47 goals in 49 games in all competitions in his one season at Barcelona.

But considering that our Ronnie has played 90% of games on the wing, you can say that is a better feat.

The one thing I thought Messi had on Ronaldo was long range passing...

Now check that at 50 seconds not bad?

Love Ron, don't love Messi - no swap possible. Loved Ron since his debut - thinks it's hilarious that he somehow became a player that I couldn't just compare to Best but one who could challenge "real" goalscorers like RvN and Henry at their own game - even I, a fan of stepover boy (who always had more end product that other people claimed), was surprised by that.

Adding context - Ron changed for us, he became the player we wanted - that he could do it without killing the player he already was makes him special to me.

Adding further context - trying to compare two of the top handful of players in the world is pointless. Some days I want strawberries, other days it's melons and I love raspberries - the world would be a lesser place without them. Messi wouldn't compensate for losing Ron - I'd still want Ron back. Being greedy I'd like them both.

I don't see why people keep saying how well Messi played over the two legs against Barcelona. I honestly don't see it -- I think he was rather subdued and Ronaldo was at least his equal in terms of attacking venture. In fact, in the first leg, Ronaldo was the only United player that did anything of note in the Barcelona half.

No, it's just my response to the question.

Q:Would you swap Messi for Ronnie?
A: Fuck off..

It's not me trying to be rude, it's just showing how strongly I feel that Ronaldo is the best in the world, and that I wouldn't swap him for anyone. I probably should have just said no, but I didn't feel this was strong enough.

'''Messi showed Ronaldo who is the top man''

What a load of bollocks! Messi showed Ronaldo who is the top man how exactly?

Did he assist? NO!

Did he score? NO!

Is he going to Moscow? FUCK NO!!!

I also love it how he says he'd love to play along side Messi

He'd keep you out the side you daft bastard.

The mechanics of Messi's game lends him to be a better big game player than Ronaldo. In fact i'd say Messi is far more comparable to Best than Ronaldo. He is also the better dribbler no doubt. When it comes to all round game though even though Messi does score a lot of goals for his age and position i'd take Ronaldo because all round he is more dangerous. When you factor in injuries then Ronaldo wins all the time. Messi needs to get a cushion of fat around him to make him pudgy like Maradonna was 1986(not to be confused with Maradona 2006!)

Judging by Cole's logic anyone who plays better Ronaldo in a single match is better than him.

I know Messi played well but all the reaction we've heard, I just wonder what it'd be like if he scored against us like Kaka... it'd be fucking crazy.

Kaka has cunt and O'shea in front of him in central defence. I could score in that scenario.

Everyone took that performance at Ot out of context. The 2nd leg too.

Messi was at his most dangerous when he cut inside and stopped running at Evra. He has that gift that only the most special players have of running at 3 players and keeping the ball.

Again, you've got to hand it to Evra when you consider that over two legs, he got skinned just once by the best dribbler on the planet.

It would be a fuckin stupid swap. Ronny is a proven super star in the PL and has established himself as the best player in the world playing in England. Messi is a midget and lightweight and injury prone. Nobody knows if he could adapt to the physical nature of the PL. Ronaldo's physique is perfect for the PL. His body can handle all the big defenders and the rough play. Messi probably would excel in the PL but he would probably get injured even more than he does now and that is way too fuckin much.

Arguments been settled once and for all, Joe Cole says Messi is the better man so the debate closes. Get over it people.
