Yaya Toure ('s agent) issues an ultimatum: Sign him up by this weekend or he's off
Quote:
Aside from the fact that his agent seems to be admitting he'll break rules by talking to clubs without City's permission - outside of the transfer window - it does seem completely motivated by money. If he's unhappy there why would he sign a new deal by this weekend? |

I always have the feeling he gets bored with City passing it around when they desperately need a goal; so he just runs through everyone & scores.
Anyway, I'll be glad if he goes - he's the main reason City have won stuff, including that holy grail of football...the Community Shield. |

Regardless, the point is spot on for me. He's reached the age where he has one big contract left and this is just classic agent influence. Speaking publicly puts pressure on the club, club panics and offers a big contract, job done for the agent.

He's outstanding. That physics and his skills on the ball are really unique. Good at taking shots as well.
The agents are really tough and sometimes I wonder if the players themselves would like to cool them down a bit since they can damage the reputation of the player. |

Some players have ambition to win trophies and regrettably, some are out there to get the most money they can. I didn't fault him for wanting more when he left Barcelona as every great talent has the right to earn a hefty payday but now it seems like him & his agent are merely angling for yet another payday. Question is, will anyone pay that much for someone who perhaps isn't in it to win trophies and merely angle for more money eventually?

As with the (possible) Rooney-for-sale leaks, I wonder if this just a kinda chess game between clubs & players. You just know that clubs are going to use the ol' "We're in a recession, so you'll have to accept lower wages" routine when it comes to negotiations; City in particular have been trying to cut back on expenditure recently, so Toure's agent may simply be pre-empting that schtick.

Wasn't there a similar threat earlier in the season? im sure the said something along the lines of he's looking for a new challenge. He's on a huge wage isn't he and will want even more for his last big deal, wouldn't be surprised to see him sold.

That's shocking isn't it. How have they ended up with that? They should have kept De Jong it was a mistake selling him. His play wasn't pretty but for a solid DM he was good at his job.
