What about Markus Rosenburg? Wouldn't he be first choice to partner Ibrahimovic?

They say Henke is 4th striker for EC, with Zlatan, Elmander, Allbäck and Rosenberg being in there ahead of him. But I don't think Rosenberg nor Allbäck will feature much.

So it will most likely be Ibrahimovic and Elmander, not bad. I quite like Rosenberg though, i would like to see him given a chance.

What about the midfield, no offense if he is a swedish hero or something but will Tobias Linderoth still be playing? i think he is a very poor football player and only makes sweden worse.

Can't agree with that. He's been consistently good for a long time. Sweden is the kind of team that needs to play with a defensive midfielder and the alternative is the mediocre Daniel Andersson. The big debate for the last couple of years has been about Linderoths partner. The candidates are Anders Svensson and Kim Källström. A lot of people, myself included, want Kim to play but Svensson has been consistently decent while Källström who is the more talented player has been a bit hit and miss.

I think Elmander and Zlatan are certain to start with Henke and Allbäck to get games. Even though he has done well in Germany and earlier in Allsvenskan I'm not convinced about Rosenberg just yet.

RAJALAKSO is the hope of Swedish football, but still young

What about Sebastian Larsson?

And I ask again, did Pelle Nilsson make the squad?

Sebastian Larsson is in the squad, don't think he'll be in the XI though. Wilhemsson and Ljunberg on the flanks.

You mean Mikael Nilsson?

There's no Pelle in the squad

Sweden squad.

I've seen Kallstrom play a few times and he looks like a good player. I'm not from Sweden, but am I correct he's not in the starting 11?

Sometimes, it's a toss up between him and Anders Svensson

Fair enough sweden need a defensive midfielder, but he is like a worse version of lee carsely. Anyone with these types of players will do nothing. YOu have to have at least the ability to find a team mate. Sweden have good players, very good players and could be a decent attacking outfit if they could keep the ball but Linderoth will give it away. Larsson is a much better player than him Seb that is. Kallstrom might be hit and miss but that is better than miss and miss. Ljungberg is past it, i wouldnt want him to play. Wilhemsson looked good for sweden but has struggled with clubs.

I like sweden but i feel that the manager cant get the best out of his players and doesn't have the means to make them a force.

Who is this Rajalakso? age? position? potential?

I like Larsson, but he is seen as a winger though and isn't going to compete with Linderoth for a spot on the team. I seriously think you underestimate Linderoth. He's a great tackler and a hard fucker. I don't think his passing is that bad, I certainly wouldn't say he always gives the ball away all the time. But he's one of my least favourite characters on the team. He seem to be a bit of a cunt of a man, but I think he deserves to be starting. And if you think he's a shitty footballer you should see the alternative: Daniel Andersson (known as something like "Danny Sideways" over here for his awesome penetrating passing ability). Ljungberg has consistently produced the goods for Sweden and if his fit he will play. he was about the only good Swedish player in the last WC.

I tend to agree, but they've qualified for the last 5 tournaments and that's hard to look past.

The new Ryan Giggs. 19. Left winger. Massive.

Seriously we'll have to wait and see, it's very hard to judge a player in the Swedish league especially since the game is so slow in comparison to the big leagues. Some players look like Maradona only to flop at some English 1st division club, but he's the most exciting player at my local club since the days of Källström, Elmander & co. I wasn't really serious about him being the future of Swedish football

Cheers for the info Iron Stove, you know i'm a big Zlatan fan and he was poor at the world cup but i felt that the rest of the team were even worse. Linderoth for me was the very worst because he simply could not keep possession and i just feel he is a very limited player.

Kallstrom may be inconsistent but at least he can do something a little different. The team should be built around Ibrahimovic because he is at his best when he has movement and runners around him.

I think you have a tough group but if the players play to their potential then sweden have the ability to go far. The world cup was so dissapointing. People talk about england being the big dissapointment of that tournament and they were awful but for me Sweden were the very worst because they couldn't even beat England.

I think after a campaign like that the manager should be replaced.

Agree with basically all of that. Zlatan and Källström are my favourite players in the squad too and I was gutted at the last World cup. Perhaps as a result of unrealistic expectations, but back in 04 we had a great tournament with more or less the exact same squad.

Lagerbäck is a tedious uncharismatic fucker, but he has one of the, if not the best records of any manager we've ever had.

Let's hope we have a good tournament but I'm not overly optimistic.

I've noticed that Wilhelmsson is terribly overrated by some Swedes. I much prefer S. Larsson over him. Ibra/Elmander looks the best combo up front right now, indeed quite competitive. I'm not a big fan of Mellberg, but I guess there iis nothing better.

Yes S Larsson should start. I'm not really sure if I want Ljungberg to start anymore, Chippen on the left would be a option. And I would be very surprised if Henke doesn't start.

I'm not sure about that. He's a great player and i do believe SAF could fix his personality problems. But then again i could be wrong. Good goal though.

According to the commentators, that was his first goal for Sweden in nearly three years. He must have been scoring a goal a game before that.

Rooney and Tevez "never won anything in the air."

But they won the league and champions league on the floor.

people on here want berbatov, ibrahimovic is berbatov times 5.
