I don't think its so much as a knock against you for being a good poster or not. I think the mods would rather see less posts and more quality. They have to start somewhere, it is hard though at that time of err day/night.
I think I'm starting to spam in one sense. I'm hardly even going into the football forums anymore, some of it is just seems to irritate me a lot more these days when it never did before. |

Alex, like myself, tends to be posting in the early hours of the morning when Europe is tucked away. I enjoyed his company in the Ronaldo and Berb threads. He's quite right that when you post then it could be hours before anyone replies. I had the same problem. There were many days when I had some very similar thread stats early in the morning, what is the middle of the night for Europe.
There's far worse goes on in here. Mods being bullies |

Apart from annoying posters by rating Ronaldo ahead of Messi, he is really a good lad.

posts but as I'd just deleted a half dozen smilie and one word posts that made no contribution it had to be applied to one of the semi useless posts I'd left intact. This also explains the reduced quantity of spam type posts in your last 100.I didn't give you the tagline, that was already there so clearly your spamming annoys more people than just me and for all those crying it's the timezone Alex posts in look at the timezone I am online in. It can be quieter in here if you post in the Asian and West Coast timezones but running around posting 3 times a minute in threads in every single open forum is bizarre behaviour, especially if you have nothing of import to say in the vast majority of those posts. Spam is spam, regardless of the timezone and while Bahama's spamming in the Ronaldo and Berbatov threads was if anything worse, it was also amusing and confined to two threads which were easily ignored if you didn't want to read it so didn't detract from the forum. It's fine on here to bitch about the state of the forum and how the new posters are dragging the place down but the minute a mod pulls someone up about their irritating behaviour the wagons are circled to repel the bullying mods. I never thought I'd need to be telling the likes of Bahama to grow up on here but unless you'd all rather we let the teenagers run riot lolling & wtfing the forum into oblivion then that's exactly what the lot of you need to do. Oh, and Alex, you're right I do detest the lol, wtf type posts. There's valid acronyms of which IMO is a borderline case but the rest is teenaged text talk and is restricted on this forum as many trapped in the newbies can attest. If you don't like it there's plenty of other forums on the net where that sort of bllx is perfectly acceptable however on here we ask posters to use the compliment of fingers, QWERTY keyboard and whatever brain power they have been gifted with to try and make a little more sense than your average semi-literate teenager. It shouldn't be a big ask but some do seem to struggle with it. |

He aint called Bury 'the slugger' Red for nothing! Low blow on Bahama mind
![]() Personally, I'm all for your clean up operation BR. Just given I've actually seen him string coherant sentences together in the footy forums, I'm suprised he's an early casualty I'm a little worried high post count equals spamming though ![]() |

As I've said before, I've nothing against Alex's posting in general but he does seem to have these mad posting rushes where he says very little an awful lot and in such a pattern that his name rapidly overwhelms the forum. I'm generally online at the same sort of time and have seen it happen a few times which the screen shot R.Nilsson took the day before highlighted so figured a light infraction was in order. It's not high post count that I'm specifically targetting here though, it's the "much to say about nothing" scattershot posting across all the forums that constitutes spam IMO. We've said plenty of times that the sort of behaviour we let pass in the General forum (where I've seen plenty of posters try and get their name on every one of the 40 posts) will not be tolerated on the rest of the forum. Posts like the Berbatov, Ronaldo and Teveth behemoths are exceptions to the rule as they are already way beyond moderation when the spamming begins but provided it is contained then we're not as worried about that as we are about the general health of the whole forum. |
