Solved my own problem again. Since I couldn't do a system restore as I didn't make any reference points, I went through and put all those settings back to their defualts.
Red Molly, if you're around, which one(s) do you think affected my wireless internet settings ? |

OK - forget everyone else's problems and concentrate on mine as it's URGENT!!!
![]() I'm trying to update my modem driver as that's what I have to do apparently, because I keep getting "Page cannot be displayed." Well I've tried three times, followed all the instructios and got as far as rebooting PC for "modems to be uninstalled" - but the new driver never appears. Same old driver, same old problems. |

i've got version 1.7.2 (Mozilla) The status bar only shows when in a normal window.. not when it's in fullscreen mode.. Open source browsers are way better then IE but this really annoys me. |

right heres a big problem. I turned my computer on and I have a new wallpaper which is telling me my computer is infected (see attachment), I can just about see my old one behind this.
Also my homepage is now set to C:\WINDOWS\secure.html. On this page it says Detected SPYware! System error #384, my IP address, says i'm at a very high risk, my ISP of transmission, the windows version i'm using, says i'm using Mozilla/4.0 I've tried changing them but can't get rid, restarting doesn't work, had a look in add/remove programs but I didn't see anything unusual I've ran spybot and ad-aware they didnt work I've cleared my temporary internet pages, history Oh and by the way, if I click on the link from my wallpaper it takes me to http://www.smart-security.info/?affid=DNN-1 |

Don't know if this counts as a PC problem, but does anyone know where I could get a plugin for iTunes that would let me play .flac files?
I managed to find a plugin for OGG Vorbis files which works quite well, but I can't find one for flac. |

Next problem:
I want to set my computer screen to turn off when the computer has been inactive for 10 minutes or so. I right-click on the desktop, go to screen saver, and click power. I then get an error message reading: "To adjust power management settings, close Microsoft Power Options and use Toshiba Power Management." Any idea how I'd do this? |

What you need to do is switch off a process at a time and see what happens and then you now you can switch it of permently , dont worry about the process being switched off cos as soon as you reboot it on again . |

It's me again!
![]() Windows update did an auto update and installed service pack 2. Now there's a windows security program running in the background that has a firewall and anti-virus. I'm already running Zonealarm and Norton anti-virus. How do I uninstall the Windows security without uninstalling the whole service pack? |

The virus scan section says this: Norton Antivirus reports that it is up to date and virus scanning is on.... Does this mean that there is no Windows antivirus installed, and it's using Norton? |

As matey above said, you can turn off the built in firewall in XP, it's crap anyway I can't believe that they have downloaded a virus scanner, not a good one anyway. Have you had alook to see what's in SP2? I'm gonna look myself |

With SP2 it doesn't install any AV software only a much needed upgrade to the windows firewall. The security center just monitors your system to make sure u got a firewall and AV installed. And yes it will now be using Norton. |

Right this is the problem I got here
Everytime I start up ptsnoop.exe not found or something pops up a couple of times(started only today), so what is wrong? Ptsnoop I've done a search its some kind of backdoor shite that tries to find a connection and if it does, it will direct you to a website which will control the windows and mouse movement thereon in So wtf is that all about. |
