This is a good idea .......... if you feel like being Giggs and want to run past 5 players on the way to scoring a goal.

Sorry mate, I should have been more specific. I downloaded FIFA 08 off my uni hub about half a year ago (i.e. I don't have the cd and thus can't reinstall it). It worked fine until a few days ago, when my friend was trying to break into my laptop administrator account without my password. He reset it in some wierd mode and it still asked for my password, but since then my FIFA 08 games go at hypo speed. (about 6 times as fast as normal). I've reset my computer a few times and everything else works fine, just my FIFA 08.

Could it be that somehow the vsync on the graphics card has been disabled? I don't know if that is possible, but waiting for the vertical blank is the only real way that a game designed to run on different speed processors can ensure a steady frame rate. Without being able to wait for the vertical blank, the thing will just loop as fast as the processor can handle it.

I'm having a problem with my Sony Viao Desktop.
Upon starting up it gets stuck on the initial "VIAO" screen which appears before any windows or anything. I have to let it sit for ages before it gets onto the next screen where I can hit F8 for Safe mode if I'd want to. It may be a hardware issue I suppose? Any ideas? |

Also check your bios and make sure first boot option is set to hard disk, otherwise it will scan the various options in the list first depending on how far down the boot list your HD is. |

![]() How can I check if the modem/router in the office is wireless or not? I've got the T-Mobile USB but not a very good signal in the office and it won't keep the laptop connected. |
