Try this.. Tools > options > go to the Privacy tab > then it should have a history section.. It should have a tick box saying remember visited pages for the last (amount) of days. Un-check it and this should stop any pages being loaded into the history folder. Maybe you could turn it off everytime you want to go on skysports and then turn it back on again when you aren't going on skysports.. Hope the above is clear and helps/works.. (I have just gone through the steps now so it should be there) |

I dont care for Firefox much but there is no history in my address bar
On the privacy tab there is an option 'Remember what i enter in the search bar', this box i leave unchecked. The only address in the bar is the page i am currently on Perhaps it might be an idea to remove the search bar completely and work solely from bookmarks |

Yeah it seems from the responses that that is the only way to go, i had hoped you could have as many addresses in the address bar as you like, but not have what you visited stored in the history bar (that way i could simply look for stuff through google, and the address bar would be football website free ) but it seems not be possible. Cheers for the replies everyone |

what boxes are ticked etc on your tools>options>privacy page? And if any of the boxes are ticked, what values are in there? Also does your address bar retain any address after you close the browser?? cheers |

Cheers Hectic, so when you click on the history drop down menu, the last 10 sites aren't there? And does that mean when you open firefox there is nothing in the address bar? Sorry for asking you endless questions.
Cheers in advance |

Yeah that's the box I was on about before but I'm not really sure now what you was going on about either as at first I thought you was just on about you're history side bar.
Are you on about the URL right at the top where it says redcafe.net at the top in Hectic's picture? You may want to check/uncheck the middle option then... I have mine remembering it and if I type "b" it will proceed to bring up anything starting with "b" up like bbc... Even then I can hover over the things it brings up and tap the 'del' button on my keyboard and it will disappear, not showing ever again until I go onto that particular site. I just did this and now bbc doesn't show up anymore. If you really want to clean stuff up you can go to that box, in private data click settings to select what you wish and then clear it. |

Yeah that is what i'm talking about, on the top menu, when you click History you have the option to show in sidebar. Above that on my browser is a list of the last 10 pages i have viewed. I'm just hoping to set it up that the address bar (where Redcafe.net is in Hectic's screenie) retains the adresses i have typed, but the history sidebar doesn't. Sorry for my rather confusing instructions, hope that clears it up |

Nope, I never see the last 10 sites. I also have it so there is nothing in the address bar. Is that how you want it? |

You can stop that, as Hectic has, but then you won't be able to see any addresses in the address bar, which is what Hectic probably has. I'm not sure of being able to stop the history yet allow the address bar to still show addresses. I'm not even sure it is possible but you could try stopping you're history being recorded (1st option) whilst leaving the search bar information on (2nd option). |

What that will do is store your searches so it will remember exactly what you have typed in. That way, in case remember all of the sites you have visited, so say you wanted to have a quick peak at sky sports, simply type 's' or 'sky' into google and it will automatically fill it in, click search and it will be first there. No-one will suspect anything because it's all done through googles searches and you can clear that whenever you want. It's just an alternative, not sure if this is what you are looking for. I'll get into contact with some other places and see if they know of a remedy for your problem. |

Not at all, don't put yourself out, that seems the most sensible solution, as everything typed into the address bar seems to go over to that history sidebar, but when you access them through google, it doesn't. Cheers for the help lads |

Not a problem, hopefully that sorts it anyway.
If there are anymore problems with it, pm me and I'll try to help. I say that, because I always forget that this thread actually exists. |

Portforwarding
Getting PC rage lately. My Utorrent is flagging up, saying i'm not connectable, my router/firewall is limiting my network traffic. When i test the port, it's saying it's not open. No matter how many times i go through all the steps on the portforwarding site, apply it all and even restart everything, it's still saying the same thing.
It just stopped working one day and it's now annoying me. Any idea how to fix this? |

I mean, have you gone into your router settings, selected an option like 'Nat Setup', then gone into ' Configure Port Redirection Table' or 'DMZ Host Setup' and fully configured the Ports to open on TCP and UDP channels?

Turned that off and even uninstalled McAfee from the PC, both with no luck.

I'm just going to do what i should've done days ago and reset my router. I've never done it before, so i've no idea how much i could mess things up. I'll give it a try and take the bad mood of my other half later if it all goes wrong. |

If you mean reset as it turn it on and off, then nothing will happen and it will be fine.
If you mean reset as in actually reset the whole console, then you will lose your settings and you will have to enter them all in again. |

I was feeling brave so i reset the whole thing, set up the port exactly as i did the last time and it opened up. But then every time i started up Utorrent, none of my webpages were loading. It wouldn't uninstall it so i've had to do the system restore before it would let me and put the older version back on.
It's all working fine again now though. Panic over Thanks for your help x |

I have a question, not really a problem.
I've written lyrics for a couple of songs, now I would like to record guitar & bass tracks onto my comp and make it into a song. can I directly input my guitar playing into my computer onto a program like audacity? and if so, how would i go about doing so? if i need to buy any hardware, eg special sound cards, then please include in the description thanks Rian |

(On a normal sound card there will most likely be 3 stereo sockets, 1 being line out where your speakers connect to.. the other mic in where your microphone connects into.. and the line in where you can connect a device and make it come through the computer to record sounds etc..) I know this isn't exactly what you asked for but I don't know how to go about setting your guitar up and I don't have audacity but I know it is possible and you would most likely need to connect your guitar into the line in socket and then on audacity select the record option to record from the line in. Hopefully you can figure it out from the above. PS make sure you have enough hard drive space as your music files will most likely be quite large especially if recorded in wave format. |

Anyone here use speedbit video accelerator? i downloaded it from the official site, and installed. When i did it sent my computer into that memory dump blue screen of death. The computer then restarted itself, and eveytime it got almost back to windows it did the same blue screen thing.
I put the computer in safe mode, and uninstalled the offending program, and everything is rosy again. But my question is, does anyone know why this happened, or how i can solve it, as SVP seems a very useful program. Cheers |
