Bonfire Night
Well its turned ito more of a week with it fallin on a Wednesday as ti does.
Anyobody beat the weather and go to a display at the weekend? Do you have a regular one that you go to? Any family traditions? Or do you get some in and launch a few in the garden maybe? One of those times of year where a spirit of ocmmunity can rise to the fore, which isn't necessarily as common as it used to be in Britain. |

, we always try to get the cat in before it gets dark at this time of year. Mind you, that still leaves the morons setting them off in the middle of the day. I think from the PoV of pets and wildlife, the spread of cheaper and seemingly only noise based fireworks is one of the main problems. Weather permitting, i'll be going to the same way i've been to for...well years now. The local scout group stage it at a field they use, proper bonfire and a Guy on top, mulled wine and a BBQ [not to mention the fireworks]. |

![]() We used one with one of ours, she's a the sister of my brothers collie. She was crap as a farm dog and was gonna get shot, so me mum took her in, was only meant to be temp, but never was gonna be.. She was really nervous as she had been mistreated, she had wire wrapped around a rotting tooth we didn't find for a few months etc and was always barking at night, obviously to keep her we had to quite her down cos of neighbours etc. She's now the fastest flyball/agility dog on the island, and holds her own in england. She's won a few single flyball events. To fast for me mum to keep up with the agility though! |
