Cash for Gold
I've been meaning to start a thread about this for a while now but always seemed to forget.
Am I the only cnut sick of these advertisements on TV ? They've got to be dodgy no ? I'm sure you get your money, but this whole idea of sending in your gold jewellery no questions asked. It's a fucking thief's dream. Spend a week stealing gold jewellery out and about in London and send it off for cash. Yer man in the ad looks like a right gangster too |

You just know you're going to be ripped off massively, there's no way they pay you even close to what your jewellery is worth...
Come to think of it I'm pretty sure that's how Gordon Brown sold our Gold reserves back in 1999: "Hello is that Cash4Gold? I just saw your advert, and I have 400 tons of gold... yes, 400... no, tons... yes, tons. Could you send me some of those pre-paid envelope thingys?"

it is not a complete con but they pay you less than the gold is really worth
these companies have all appeared because the price of gold is reaching all time high levels - they are basically taking advantage of the average punter who doesnt have a clue what their stuff is worth. |

Most of them are not scams, or knock-offs. The money you get will be double or perhaps triple the price you paid for, everyone's buying up gold again because it's at it's highest ever.
If you are going to sell, or need money, contact one of the companies on television and get a quote. |

Wouldn't want to trust the Royal Mail with my jewellery.
Speaking of the RM - whatever happened to 26May? |
