It's a shame about MLK wonder what would have happened with him had that assasination never took place. Seemed a great man.

In regards to Kennedy, it would now be called Kennedy's Disease not Addison's. I wonder what would have happened with his political career and disciples, you could put his brother in as well.

As for the Angels' pitcher, To Live in Die and Die in L.A., it's crazy out here, it's fucking uncivilized

It doesn't make it any less sad what happened to him. Why did the police conclude then it was accidental?

I don't know if a lot of them did go before their time, seemed to suit most of them, and it was almost fitting for a few.

Jim Morrison didn't go before his time, IMO. In Ray Manzarek's book he wrote that Jim asked him on the beach, when they were in their early 20s, "How long do you think you'll live, Ray?" Ray was shocked and said he'd probably be in his late eighties...here's what Jim said (from Ray's book):

"Whoa, not me, man. I'll never make it that far." And he spoke matter-of-factly, without any fear in his voice. "I see myself like a shooting star. You know, like when you're out at night, at the beach with a bunch of people, and somebody points up at the sky and says, 'Hey, look! A shooting star!' And everybody stops talking. And they see it, and say 'Ahh!' And it holds them for a brief moment...and then it goes out"
And he looked at me with his deep and trusting eyes. His wise and prescient eyes..."That's how I see myself, Ray."

Mind you, in an interview in 1970 with Salli Stevenson, she asked him how he thought he'd die and he replied: "I hope at about the age of a hundred-and-twenty with a sense of humor and a nice comfortable bed. I wouldn't want anybody around. I'd just want to quietly drift off."

Who knows? It's another part of the Jim Morrison mystery (which he was consciously building and cooperating with throughout his short career - he was smart enough to know what he was saying and how it would give him a certain mystique).

somebody asked for more about James Dean

Though James Dean only starred in three movies, he became a Hollywood Icon following his death at the age of 24. His handsome face and debonair demeanor continue to be used as inspiration for young actors looking to break into the business. Though his career was short, his iconic image remains a mainstay in the immortal Hollywood landscape.

Eze-E

If James Brown is the “God Father of Soul” then Eazy-E would be considered the “God Father of Gangster Rap.” Eric “Eazy-E” Wright died at the early age of 31 due to complications with the AIDS virus. He was buried in an 18k gold casket at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, Ca. Fans continue to visit his site and pour 40 ounce bottles of malt liquor in appreciation of his artistic legacy.

He was great in Giant too. A stylish, epic of a film.

Incidently, Sal Mineo who appeared with him in Rebel died young too. He got knifed to death.

And Natalie Woods drowned.

That said, East Of Eden was better.

Yeah, I read about that. In fact, a few of the cast of Rebel died young.

I've got Giant but I haven't found time to watch it yet.
