FAO Ipod/Itunes wizards.

Anyone know how to add a podcast to the podcast folder of itunes? Mine are showing up in the music folder, despite the fact they are podcasts. Apparently they only go into the podcast folder if you download them using RSS feeds/Itunes.

So, any of you lot know how to put them in the folder manually(bearing in mind I already tried drag and drop).

How do you get them if not by iTunes?

it's all itunes and ipods nowadays. i long for the good old days when men used to wear baggy clothes and walk around with a hifi system strapped to their shoulder, blearing out music.

I think you have to download them off itunes for them to go into the podcast folder, otherwise itunes just sees it as another song

I may be wrong, don't quote me

What he said.

Pretty much every podcast available can be accessed via the iTunes store as well as whatever website hosts them. Have a good dig round and you're bound to find 'em in there somewhere.

Which podcast is it?

Go into iTunes music library and check if they are in the podcast folder and not among the other things

I got every episode of the Ricky Gervais Show Podcasts (25 odd), so trying to get them to go in the right folders. A normal person would just be able to let it go, I've been trying to solve it for about an hour now.

EDIT: The reason I don't want to download them again is that they cost money, and I got them for free.

Do you mean in My Computer>My Docs<itunes etc?

Or, as in, open itunes, and look in the podcast folder?

I have done the second, and all I'm trying to do is get them to appear in the list of podcasts.

In that case they're not podcast then? Can't see any Ricky Gervais podcast that costs any money. It must be shows

Yeh i downloaded all season's of the show. Annoying how the recording quality of season one is really bad. No idea how to get them into the Podcast folder though.

Yes. They are categorized as audiobooks on iTunes Store - and iTunes sees them as music

long winded way to do it would be to sign up to mypodcast.com upload them to your own podcast, and then download them through the subscribe function, which would then download the files to your podcast folder

you also get a cool little page like this

http://jamesparkin.mypodcast.com/

I just noticed that they are now apparently branding his podcasts as "audiobooks", and charging the better part of €7 quid for them. That's probably why you didn't see any podcasts that costs money.

Cheers Pete.
