small forums usually dont keep on updating there forums data...they would have a back up but not a updated one...basically they might have lost posts and data of the previous 5 months or so.

I've got a couple of sites, and no matter what the size of the site/forum is I always backup my database once a week. You just never know what might happen, and you should always regularly make backups if you care about your site.

The owner of that site does seem fairly abitious and I'd be suprised if he didn't backup their database regularly.

backup or no backup, it still sucks, and whoever did it certainly didn't do RedCafe as a whole a favour.

No one does, but you should always be prepared for when something like that happens, and it being an United site I'm sure there are loads of rivals fans with knowledge of hacking who could pose a threat - even if their forum isn't big - their site is still pretty well-known because of their tribal-like news section.

For what its worth, Pert I know you didnt 'hack' it. My comment towards you about "walking on dangerous ground" was for being one of the prime movers on starting all this shite in the first place.

I do however, believe that your 'mate' Revelz is well involved. He did it before to RR. He has a history of trying to guess admin passwords here and I believe he got lucky by finding a weak password on that forum.

I don't remember it like that - it all started with Solvista's thread regarding the good-looking admin over there, and that was basically all it required for people to invade their forum - Pert didn't enter this whole affair until it had already been well underway - he did however start the more personal aspect of it when he and the mod, Zuco started a small gay internet fight, though that was pretty harmless from both sides.

Don't think there's much more to do for the average admin over there - the damage has been done, and the "hacker" is presumably gone - it's all up to the owner now or whoever else has got access to their database.

Let's just hope they've got a recent backup.
