FAO: IT Wizzes

I am looking to have some private webspace (i.e. password protected) and upon entering having a list of folders, and when clicking a folder, being able to view the contents (i.e: docs, pic files, etc) and be able to regularly update each folder (using a simple FTP or so). Is this possible, how easy is it, where do I start?

Cheerio!

Download Apache, install it on your home PC.

if you just want a really simple folder structure for storage, setting up ftp in IIS will work fine and it is free with windows.

As I said, download Apache, use a service such as DynDNS. Maybe even your router supports it.

Rimaldo is correct. You dont need to be tech savvy to implement that.

Apache is ok but it wont provide enough security if you like to keep some confidential docs unless you implement a JAAS module.

I can write that and set it up for you but you must pay me $10000.
