Cheers, Suresh, I know it's not exactly synchronized but I'd hate to monopolize my birthday thread.

I drove a lot. 7500 km. Of my 17 days off, six were spent in the truck. Thank god it's comfortable.

I went swimming in Lake Superior on my way home. Fecking cool lake, both literally and figuratively. The waves push you forward and then try to [pull you out.

It was also nice to see family and friends out west.

The weather was crazy humid, as it is usually a dry heat on the prairies it kind of sucked but I went to another nice lake while I was there. It has a great beach and the lake bottom is smooth sand. It turns out it is one of my favourite places.

My wife was out of sorts because she couldn't get any falafel.

I was bothered by the fact that everything closes by 10 pm. Even the chinese refused to deliver me food at 9:30. Fecked.

Oh a cousin of mine got married while I was out there. I don't think I'd seen him in abuot 15 years. It was a great time, too.

So you went on a road trip, killed your wife over a falafel and ended up marrying your cousin. That's some trip, Doc.

Indeed. I didn't even think of it that way. My proudest accomplishment was driving from Toronto to Thunder Bay (about 16 hours) in one day.

I also miraculously avoided a speeding ticket after blowing by the cops, straddling the centre line to pass a semi (big lorry) at 140km/h in a 90km/h zone.

I once drove from Miami to New Jersey. Around 24 hours non stop. well, I just sat in the passenger seat while my cousin drove but I think it still counts.

A 16 hour drive is a killer. I drive north every now and then and if the journey takes more than 4 hrs due to some kind of traffic jam, I'm slowly contemplating ways to off my fellow road travellers. That's some patience you have there.

It's not like I can't do it. I just don't have an American driver's license yet because I'm too lazy to go for the test.
