Having problems with freeview box

Please can anyone help?

After retune of freeview box on 4th November I am unable to recieve Sky Sports News or Sky News. All it says when I try to get it on is *New Channel...Please Wait*. Well, I have waited for 3 days now and nowt has happened and I've retuned the TV etc 4 times.
Anyone got any ideas what I can try so I can get the channels again?

Thanks very much in advance.

By re-tune what exactly do you mean? On mine there's an option to search for channels individually, or for a full "re-installation" where it re-tunes all of the channels. I did a full re-instillation on mine and it was fine. Could just be my individual box being a spastic with multiple useless options however.

Maybe it's just not meant to be...or there's a guy from Sky outside in the bush with a signal jammer, trying to get you to sign up.

If you have access to your ariel, give a little move.

A jiggle would be too much imo. I'd vouch for a nudge.

Any other channels missing? With digital terrestrial TV they normally bunch 4 or 5 on a single transponder or MUX. There could be a problem with the power levels on that MUX on the transmitter, maybe bad weather has moved your aerial?

Actually, this is something shit with digital TV. With analogue, you'd simply get signal degradation causing noise (even bad weather could cause this). With digital, they can disappear totally.

Aye, its a pain in the arse. I've had the same problem lately MUM despite retuning three times. Gave it another try last night and everything's fine now. Maybe just persevere for a week or so before messing with your aeriel. It might be worth entering your postcode in this: Freeview | Coverage Checker in case certain channels aren't available in your area at the moment.

Do you still have the sky boxes?

If so plug the buggers back in again ,better than any freeview box,you still see all the channels, but obviously cant watch them, but you still get all the FTA (free to air ones)
except channel 5.
