It would all depend on the usage.

If you said "I watched superman last night, it was great" then this is perfectly acceptable.

or as is more likely in the context of this thread you said something like:

"I watched Batman last night, I thought it was super"

Then we have real issues here Doc, this could actually shape mankind such is the importance of this subject.

I'm scared.

Well I think I was influenced by the woman on the other end of the line, she sounded like one of those pudgy happy broads and I just got caught up in the moment. Normally I'd say 'fantastic' but this 'super!', it just slipped out and I cringed afterwards. I feel dirty, in a bad way.

It was also a one-word response to her statement.
