Another victim of the copyright laws, unfortunately. Plenty more torrent sites out there though.

Of course I can, I monitor a lot of them in case of illegal activity. Copyright theft disgusts me. Perhaps if you want to monitor them in a similar way you could try piratebay or isohunt?

both sound equally appalling so in the interest of protecting myself from something as repugnant as copyright theft, perhaps i had better have a quick look, so I will know exactly what to avoid!

EricaNo7 I find that investing in a year's rapidshare account is very helpful for gauging the extent of the file sharing problem. You can for example, investigate 700mb movie files much, much faster than the equivalent torrent.

I'm hearing that these slimy bastards have resorted to Depositfile accounts, must have been the increased file trafficing, the petty little thieves!

It's another sad day for Bit Torrent users.

First TPB, then Mininova, and now a great private tracker is shutting down.

No official reason has been given, but there have been speculations that it is tied to the LOOP raid earlier this week.

--------------------------
SceneTorrents (ScT) has been a respected and well-connected private BitTorrent tracker for more than four years. An invite for the tracker was hard to find, but the lucky few that did get in had little to complain about, until today that is.

A few hours ago ScT put up a sad and unexpected announcement for its 20,000 members, as the site’s operators have decided to close the site for good tomorrow. Thus far the staff refuses to comment on the reason for the shutdown, which has resulted in widespread rumors among the site’s users.

ScT announces that it will close the site tomorrow at 10PM GMT.

I beginning to wonder if Demonoid will ever return. Hopefully not the despicable scoundrels. TPB is still around at least for the moment. Sickening.

A healthy mix of jdownloader and a few forums I frequent would render, even that investment, redundant.

If torrents go, even more alternatives will spring up, although at the moment these alternatives currently exist, they will prosper further if major torrent sites continue to take hits.

jdownloader works by trying to get you a new IP address for downloads right? Well that doesn't really work if you're on cable internet.
