Might I just state that Noodle is the single most incapable man on the planet, I don't know why I actually go to him asking for mod based favours

Could some other mod bail him out of his duties please, desticky this thread, and issue Si Yuan with a 'Cafe Grandmaster 2008' tagline please. Oh and give him a slap across the chops for good measure too

Thanks

I can't believe no mod has de-stickied this thread though, anyone would think we weren't paying them to perform their jobs...

One thing we could do is have a 'chess ladder' system, where there would be no compulsion to play a game. You arrange a game against another ladder player on your own volition, if you win you rise a place, if you lose you remain where you are. You can't play the same player consequtively, so we get a bit of variation in opposition, and stops someone beating the same crap opponent over and over to rise to the top!

Sound like a decent plan? Any suggestions to improve it?

That's a good idea. Maybe once the ladder gets going you can only challenge a person upto 4 places above you and if you win you take their place while they go down one.

Good suggestion, that sounds more like it. And anyone who joins obviously goes to the bottom of the ladder. Could have a rule where if you don't play for say a month, you drop to the bottom of the ladder, so we don't get stuck with a batch of non players preventing over folk from finding opposition?
