I have in front of me a Chicken and bacon sandwich with mayonaisse on brown.
Use by date is 7/7/08 What are the chances of dying through eating this? |

By premature do you maybe mean 1 day earlier? I can handle premature as theres scope for movement on that. However sudden death would maybe have got me a bit nervous. Thanks for the advice men, was a good bite. |

I last week watched a mate who'd claimed he could swill a teaspoon of tabasco sauce round his mouth try doing so. In fairness he managed the 10 seconds swilling and then required urgent cooling action in is mouth. Silly boy ran to my fridge to grab the milk, before i had chance to tell him that th emilk had actually been sat there for a good two weeks he'd took a mouthfull. Needless to say he spewed his guts up So on reflection i'd say Milk/dairy products in general should have there use by dates strictly stuck to! |

use by dates are more of a guideline than a rule, i find most stuff is good to go anywhere up to 6 months after the use by date, especially meat and dairy products.

yep, if it smells ok, it usually is. Use by dates are put on as a guidance to cover the asses of manufacturers. too many people suing because they got sick and blame it on the food and stinging them for loads of cash.
