40% of any fee goes to Spurs, so that severely reduces the pot to start with.

Even more of a reason for them to get him to stay and raise his value.

Or they might think he cant do much better?

Yeah, I forgot about that so basically they're selling him for £5.2m in hand. That's awful business for the best player in the Championship last season.

QPR could get around £13m now but still they have to give Spurs somewhere in the region of £5m, which is a lot.

Adel Taarabt 'very close' to PSG move but Neil Warnock won't spend £13m fee | Metro.co.uk

Quote:
Taraabt has confirmed this week his much-publicised move to Paris Saint-Germain has almost been agreed but admitted he wouldn’t be too distraught if the deal collapsed.

‘We are very close but if no deal is done I will play for QPR in the Premier League,’ the 22-year-old said.

Warnock, meanwhile, is less optimistic about the outcome of any potential deal.

‘I am hoping things break down if I’m honest, but I think if they come up with the money then I am sure he’ll be on his bike,’ the QPR manager said.

‘I don’t think I’ll be getting any of the money. I think we have just got to look for Bosmans, loans etc.’

QPR had been linked with a move for unwanted Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton this summer, but given Warnock’s latest admission, the England player may have to look elsewhere for regular football after his current contract at St James’ Park expires.

Aren't QPR suppose to be quite rich? They won't stay up without investment and it will be cheaper long term to bring in a few solid player for fees than freebies who will demand large wages and be mostly useless anyway.

Glad he's staying - will be a fun player to watch in the PL next year.

I couldn't see how selling him now would have benefitted anyone...

What a cunt... QPR got a penalty, he started arguing and gurning with Helguson over who was taking it, threw a right strop! Both Barton and Derry had to have words

Helguson scores And looks as if to say told you I'd score. Derry and Barton pull him in to celebrate and have more words in his ear. Don't like his attitude it was cuntish behaviour

Yup. He's a disgrace. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team and I'm surprised Warnock tolerates him. That type of person is a cancer on the dressing room.

He's not average. He's a bit of a cunt, but surely not average.

He's done nothing so far this season to suggest he's any better than average.

Agreed. He blows hot and cold even more than City's Italian with a third of the talent and a bigger attitude than Tevez. He was a star in the Championship and has been found out so far this season as someone average with a bit of flair.

And some on here were tossing 'Arry about last season because he didn't keep him

I mean in comparison to his general attitude on and off the pitch. You'd think he's a world beater.

He's a bit like Diamanti. Sometimes brilliant, sometimes terrible. A flawed player.

Taarabt was fantastic vs Wolves today, despite the loss.

Was brilliant when Wolves started to panic and just wanted to park the bus.
Wolves sat back and surrendered possession and space.

How can players be such stars in the championship yet be so lacklustre in the prem? I mean, he was a beast in the championship last year, no one came close.

And yet much lesser talents than him who are merely good at championship level outsthines him when they move up to the prem....

Attitude, he seems to lose interest when things aren't going his way.

Or lose confidence when the going gets tough?

It was obvious in the championship that he is insanely talented. Stories have been brought up before about his temperament.

In my opinion he is talented enough to be a success in the BPL, just needs to apply himself.

Isn't that simple. He's born and raised and probably has had the same mentality all his life. Why should he go changing it when he's got money as well. He won't and he won't be playing at a much better club than he's at now in England.

I agree. I wouldn't touch this guy with a 20ft barge pole if I was SAF.

German side Wolfsburg are interested in Taraabt and are, apparently, offering QPR 10m Euros for him.

Step down IMO, he could go somewhere better than that.

Wolfsburg are in poor form too arent they?

Such as?

He's done absolutely nothing this season to suggest he's even worthy of any top flight club. Certainly in this country.

PSG have acquired much better players last summer (Menez,Pastore) and with the prospect of CL, they could do a lot better than Signing Taarabt

I doubt that.

ALso, Wolfsburg are hardly a shit side. They're 10th in the league.

I disagree. He hadnt lived up to the hype (as usual in this country though, that is more the problem with the hype than the player) but he has looked like a player capable of being a creative spark given a bit of freedom in his role.

Is he top 4 material? No. Could he do a job for a mid table team? Yes. He strikes me as the kind of player who will play better, with better players around him. I think an Everton, Fulham or maybe Liverpool would be about his level currently.

Not really step down if QPR go down. I guess British managers know more about his attitude. I don't like his type. Throw fits, walk out on the team and aren't even that good. They're just okay players with flair.

No thanks. I think he's a player who thinks he is much better than he is and that will stop him reaching his potential. Next Quaresma imo.
