Alexandre Pato

The most promising young footballer on the planet today. 17 year old that scored 2 cracking goals in the South Americn U20 tournament for Brazil yesterday in the win over Uruguay. Also starred for Internacional in their win over Barcelona in the world club final in Japan.
Would probably be half the price of Torres with 3 times the ability. I wonder in Fergie has been watching him?

Fergie could maybe bring in Pato and offload maybe Smith
also could maybe offload Brown,Richardson and some cash in exchange for Huddleston at spurs
Then bring in Bale also and the team would be sorted for the next decade

Pato was class in the world club championships. But i am sure we will not buy him.He will end up at Milan or Madrid.
And Huddlestone is almost like a clone of Carrick but only with better shooting.

Pato is destined for milan, and he will never get work permit so no point in discussing about him

These type of players are not made for EPL

Ringo, you want to offload Brown but not Sly? strange.

How these players cannot get work permits in England is beyond me. If the US allowes Cuban baseball players, surely England can make way for great footballing talent.

Well he is from the south of Brasil that has cold and shitty weather for a few months. There is every chance Pato will be in Brazils first squad in the near future so work permits might be available.
He is surely destined for Spain or Italy but again its nice to wank about it until its certain that he is not coming. Come on Ensanul your telling me you didnt have a quick wank as soon as you saw his name up on the transfer forum?

Sly can clean Fletchers boots for all I care as we will have big Johnny evans back from Sunderland in the summer and Sly and Brown will have to make way - end of story. But would be nice to keep Brown though if possible.

You're forgetting about Pique.

Pique and Evans looks like the future.

How do you know Evans will not be loaned out again? I doubt Fergie wants him to sit on the bench instead of gaining experience.

Personally, I would want Evans and Foster to get another year of 1st team action before coming back, although in Evans' case it would be nice if there was a recall clause in the loan.

Nah Id imagine he will come back and play in cup games and smaller league games with a view to replacing Rio at the start of the 2008 season.

Great, someone who has been following Pato in every game he has played. Tell me from the many hours youve spent watching him to form this opinion then has any of his team mates on the Brazil U 20 team or from his team at Internacional stood out for you? Please write a report on at least five equally promising players that Pato plays with at club and country that you think might make it? Cheers Mate

why so?

from what i've seen of him he's terribly slow and somewhat awkward. big, strong lad who is decent in possession and good in the air, but when a quick player runs at him - goodnight.

Manchester United Set To Bid For Brazilian Whizzkid Pato

Manchester United are ready to bid for Internacional de Porto Alegre starlet Alexandre Pato.

Inter have indicated they're ready to listen to offers for the 17 year-old after Porto made contact last week regarding the striker's availability.

AC Milan chiefs have confirmed their interest in Pato, while Manchester United are now making a serious move to clinch a deal for the youngster, regarded the hottest young striker currently in the game.

Pato has been told that his career would be better served at Manchester United, where so many young talents have flourished, and where he can fulfill a boyhood dream to play and train alongside his idol Cristiano Ronaldo. It would also link him up again with his old friend Anderson, who completed his move to Old Trafford this week.

The stumbling block for United is Pato's lack of a European passport and competition from AC Milan, which have discussed signing the teenager and loaning him back to Inter for another six months at least.

since we are supposedly loaning one player to porto as part of the anderson agreement, I think it would be a good idea to buy pato and loan him to porto for a couple of seasons till he gets a work permit. Worst case, if things don't pan out, we can sell him off to an italian or spanish side.
