The best players in Portugal are
1. Hulk forward (Porto and Brazil)
2. Falcao forward (Porto and Argentina)
3. Javi Garcia Defensive midfielder (Benfica and Spain)
4. Di Maria (Benfica and Argentina)

These 4 should all eventually make it to the very top although nothing is ever gaurenteed as ex Sporting Lisbon star Nani has shown. But a Nani swap for Di Maria could be good but maybe Nani needs one more season after this to show his worth!

Saviola and Aimar for Benfica are also amongst the very best players in portugal but have already had their shot at the big time but would be worth a risk for any team in England! Benfica are completely broke too so all of their players will be on the market next summer even if they win the league!

Veloso was never any good though. Just potential. But he decided he's a better celebrity than he is a footballer. I know that much about him.

But I wasnt aware that Moutinho was underperforming.

i've seen di maria play very well but also very averagely. He has pace and good dribbling but i think his decision and final ball are still very inconsistent. Certainly young and could have a big future but i dont get the "wonder kid" vibe from him. Maybe i'll be proven wrong but he's certainly a talent that's for sure.

I take few of you actually follow portuguese football.

There are at least 5 players in the Benfica squad better than Di Maria right now: Cardozo, Ramires, Javi Garcia, Luisão and David Luiz. Di Maria has great potential but he´s very inconsistent.

Also the engines behind Porto and Sporting are Raul Meireles and João Moutinho, both of them on great form at the moment. It´s not Moutinho´s fault the rest of Sporting squad is crap. Veloso finally settled down and is actually improving a lot. I think he has room to became what people expected him to a few years ago.

Hulk and Falcao are quality too though, i will not dispute that. Other players who deserve a mention are Aimar, Saviola and Liedson.

A big United fan apparently

Manchester City target Angel di Maria admits he's a Manchester United fan!

City are prepared to pay Di Maria's £36 million buyout clause to sign him from Benfica.

Chelsea and Liverpool are also reported to be interested in the 21-year-old. But the player admits he has his heart set on a dream move to Old Trafford.

He said: “Since I was 13 or 14 years old, I’ve been telling my mother and my father that my dream is to play some day for Manchester United.

“And I won’t stop till I get it.

“When I watch [Wayne] Rooney and all of them on TV, I can’t wait to play there at Old Trafford.

“When I was a little boy I watched Arsenal games as well, but Manchester United always dazzled me most.”

Bought him in FM 07 I think, hell of a buy then.

Seems like a decent flashy winger sort of player.
